No way you give up pick 1 for Luko alone.
Pick 1, 19 and 2020 first for Luko and Rankine.
Luko and Rankine are each worth a top 3 pick individually.

Pick 1 and a future mid to late first rounder isn’t going to cut it. Even with an early second round pick thrown in.

Getting a 10 year midfield containg Rowell and Anderson, who are likely to stay together is worth a ton. Is it worth more than Luko and Rankine? Plus who knows who they pick up with pick 19 and the Crows 2020 first?

But you’re basically giving up half your 2018 draft.

GC would be better off standing pat, or slightly down grading their first pick for two more first rounders and going all in on some more SA talent.

By all accounts Rowell and Anderson are a level above anyone else in the draft. They would be crazy to drop down in this draft. Last year where there a top 8 they could have done it.

I dunno

Guys like young Flanders and Gould are looking pretty damn good. I think the gap is closing these champs.

It will be interesting to see long term, but they did not seem massively impressive to me.

Certainly not enough to say they're miles ahead of anyone else.

I prefer Gould and Taheny in this year draft.
Lukosius, Gould, Mclennan, Rankine and Taheny, Ballard.

Adelaide have never had pick 1 or 2 before so I am sure they will be more than happy to keep it unless something extraordinary can be worked for Grundy or Lukosius/Rankine which is doubtful.
Either Rowell or Anderson would be a perfect fit for a midfield lacking x factor so the Crows are in great shape going into this years draft. Pick 19 or 20 could also net them a decent KPP.

From watching the two games on a pc yesterday I agree with Anderson but I thought other Vic Metro players looked the equal of Rowell. Sturgess and Gould impressed me in 2nd game. Sharp, Jackson, Gore and Rosa in 1st

How did you watch game 2?

IMO Sharp & Jackson I would agree with, I’ll bite my tongue on the other 2. Interesting that Devon Robertson gets BOG for WA & Tom Green for Allies and both played in the middle together yet showed no defensive traits. Allies lost it in the middle again after the ruckman received an arm injury & tall forwards couldn’t mark the ball let alone kick straight. Small forwards looked lost, selfish, injured, fumbles & lazy. Wingman unaccountable, Mids need to run defensive as well, backs need to move the ball quicker, switch the play, use your mates in the first option. Vic Metro v SA looked a lot faster and less “look at me” game style where the ball zipped around the ground. Team game. YouTube might not tell the whole story but Allies looked good until the heat came into the game and some “always spoken about players” started looking around before trying to get the pill. A few possessions and a goal or nearly took a great mark doesn’t constitute a good game.

Thanks a bunch. :thumbsu:

My boy Tommy Berry must have had a good game yesterday in the NEAFL 26 disposals and an unbelievable 13 tackles looking at the stats this morning? Did he play in defence?

Maybe the crows should target gws's essendon pick by offering them more points ie pick 19 + our 2nd + a further pick for their nga propsect green. Then possibly offer pick 8 + greenwood for goldcoast pick 2. Or even be more bold and offer a laird or milera straight swap for pick 2

I like Greenwood but he is out of contract could walk out on Adelaide if crows offer him peanut to extend his contract compare to other club , GCS do have pick 1 or two for pre season draft. GWS would be more likely to deal with GCs first as both have two first round pick compare to Adelaide one. Sydney also got multiple 2nd and third round pick.

The issue for GWS is to try and trade down to not lose the value of those 1sts if a high bid comes in for their top rated NGA player. So for example if the had picks 8 & 16 and a club bid for green at say pick 4..GWS lose 8 and part of 16 to cover the points. I am sure that all clubs know it and i dare say some will try and do a trade with them. The crows might rate green inside the top 2 and could tell GWS they are likely to bid on him and might agree not to if a pick swap could happen. It is just a strategy hut with picks 19 and their own 2nd + they can generate further picks if they want to trade a player out..they could be in a good position to work a trade with GWS

If you could forward your assessment to Power and Sheehan, that would be wonderful
A fat lot of good it will do, because according to other posters, the Allies aren't there to win! They are simply there so clubs can see them on the big stage.
Unfortunately, due to the cast that has been put together on this stage, the theatre has decided to cancel further possible contracts and downgrade others due to picking up Vic/SA and WA actors.
They are sorry, and advise the Allies artistic director to pull his head out of his arse if the Northern academies are to be taken seriously.

GWS could get Combo pick for Cog if he choose to go and second Rd pick for Bonar too. You need to think about other possibilities, GWS drafting of Cardwell, hately, hallohan (wrong spelling) and Hill show that they are not one dimension, I can even see them daring Adelaide to pick Green at pick 1 or two if they rate him at pick 5.
