Apparently Dee’s keen on Weightman. Like us see a small forward as a need. May trade down according to Twomey on AFL site.

Bennell and Thorne beat hills conbine record in the agility test that has stood for 11 years. Sokol also took out the beep teat/yoyo test or whatever they call it these days

Two names I hadn't heard until reading the article about this earlier. Do you know any more about them? I'm guessing late/rookie prospects...

Yeah more then likely. Would be keen on Thorne as a rookie has that forward pressure and x factor but is extremely light

As much as I wish it was that simple, I think we'd be reluctant to take just one indigenous kid from WA with no other indigenous blokes at the club. Hard to predict at this stage but if we end up in the right area to pick up Elijah Taylor I think we'll be very interested in bringing in someone like Thorne as well.

7perth just did a segment on the draftees from WA. Thorne beat Stephen Hill's test record for Agility? Also shorter than Caleb Daniel and is a cousin to Kelly.

Article here.

If we could only choose one from the VFL (as seems likely, at best) then I think Scott offers more than William in terms of our needs.

However I reckon there's a fair chance some other club will snaffle him before we get the chance.

So at this stage we are entering the draft with #13 #53 and #89. Not a bad position considering the trade haul we mustered up.

You'd think 89 will be a rookie upgrade. So 13 and 53 will be the live picks.
As mentioned before, wonder if we offload 13 for a pick in 20s and a future second to cover the loss to Crows.

Possibility on draft night if the guy we want has already been nabbed.

I think we’d do well with any of Weightman, McAsey, Kemp, Stephens, Worrell, or Flanders. Individually none seem likely to slide to 13 except Worrell, but given the crush of very similarly ranked players from 5-15ish, it’s not impossible that one of that group could be there at our pick.

Got me I don't see the speak in Worrell.
The rest in order of unlikely-likely imo
Mcasey, Stephens, Kemp, weightman.
I'd be happy with any of those 4 but if they're all gone and No one slides I'd imagine we trade the pick for an early second and a future second.

Any of those would be good.

A few questions:

For 53 - will Riccardi make it that far?

Is Young Kellet this year? Is the possible for 80’s pick?

Can Scott get through to a rookie?

We will need some cover for KPPs - so will we delist both Roberts and Gardiner?

We picked Gardner ahead of Roberts in AFL games this year so must believe he has have potential - and then was injured. Would be surprised is he is rookied.

Have been supportive of ROBERTS given his premiership year but he has been fit and not picked even when we have injuries so doesn’t look good.

Three retirements out
Two trades in
Likely three draft picks
So does this mean we need to delist 2 minimum?

If so out of:

Lynch
Webb
ROBERTS
Dickson (hope not)

Rookies

Gardiner
Khamis (likely to keep)
la Young (Looks great - will be kept)
Roarke
sweet (will surely keep)

Roake will be the 1 upgraded I think. Lynch is contracted and sweet and young have had their rookie contracts extended another year. Need to delist just 2 and upgrade 1 rookie.
