Whats the point of Sydney being into Green when we cant get him?
1) You could bid on him before GWS's pick, forcing them to use pick 6 or trade it out
2) You could spook GWS into trading up again before the draft

Forcing GWS to match the bid and take Green.Whats the point of us being into Green when we cant get him?
If GWS trade pick 6 and move ahead of a bid for Green, they need a mid to late 20’s pick back as well, to help match the points. They really have a poor hand, points wise, in thi years draft. If he is still available at pick 5:
GWS trade Pick 6 and their 2020 first round pick for Pick 5.
They would be effectively trading Pick 6 and say 15, for Pick 5 and Tom Green (Tom>15).
If say Gold Coast bid on Green at 2 would they be able to muster the points?Forcing GWS to match the bid and take Green.

Don't they use the following years picks if they run out of points? In which case they would lose the first round pick anyway.Forcing GWS to match the bid and take Green.

Yes, but there is a cap on how many future points the AFL deem you to have.Don't they use the following years picks if they run out of points? In which case they would lose the first round pick anyway.
From the 3 you mentioned i would say Port most likely with #18Richmond, Bulldogs and Port all like Rivers
Doesn’t seem an obvious fit for the Dogs. From the 3 you mentioned i would say Port most likely with #18

It could also be the Bulldogs playing games with Port wanting them to pull the trigger at #12 and letting another player slide to #13.
I don’t buy Demons taking Jackson at 3 at all.Everything said publicly and most things that somehow get out privately but publicly hehe are "playing games".
For instance, Melbourne list manager yesterday naming the 3 players they are tossing up for Pick 3 coincidentally being the 3 players that GWS apparently want most. Green, Jackson, Young.
"Hey GWS, let's deal".
Both would be astute picks for the piesRiccardi is all the talk for us atm. Ben Sokol has also been flown over and interviewed.
Yeah, it feels like a bluffI don’t buy Demons taking Jackson at 3 at all.
I’m keen on both, so I hope it happens. Both would be astute picks for the pies
There is no way they are passing on Green. He's too good.
