And Sydney look to have another one for next year.
On the flip side have Sydney produced any elite KPP's?

Heeney and Mills are yet to consistently play in the middle. On the flip side have Sydney produced any elite KPP's?
Time will tell about Blakey but he was pretty hyped up.

How many players will Rangers be missing?
Private school competition begins this weekend, and are Vic City holding a trial match?
I read about Stephens and thought there’s our slider due to injury. I reckon that (prior to trades) we will be able to draft players that fill the needs of running HBF and small forward (outside of Charlie and Linc the cupboards bare). Not sure if I've mentioned it, kid I really like this year is Lachlan Ash, HBF from the Murray Bushrangers. Unless Collingwood bomb out of the top 8 or get knocked out of the finals on the first weekend, we might not get a look at him.
Two other kids I like, one who I mentioned last year are Sam Flanders and Caleb Serong, both are small forwards/midfielders who play for Gippsland Power. Both have been spoken about as potential top 10 prospects.
Another kid to keep in mind is big bodied inside midfielder, Cooper Stephens from the Geelong Falcons, who broke his leg on the weekend and is out for at least 10 - 12 weeks. Will miss the National Championships and with Geelong likely to miss out on the Nab League finals, might not play again this season. So could end up being a draft slider.
I include Zorko into our small forward list, but agree completely we need another genuine small forward who can apply pressure, kick goals and run through the midfield.I read about Stephens and thought there’s our slider due to injury. I reckon that (prior to trades) we will be able to draft players that fill the needs of running HBF and small forward (outside of Charlie and Linc the cupboards bare).
In terms of the NAB cup, rounds 1 to 3 and then the last couple of rounds before finals are the main ones that count, because for the next 12 weeks most of the top end and draft-able Vic kids are off playing Private School footy.Amazes me how early draft discussions take place given we're only at Round 3 of the AFL season, the elite u/18 comps have barely started and the National Champs are still months away.![]()
Agree. A quality HBF or classy small forward would be "my" priorities. With Ely Smith being drafted last year not sure we'd go another inside mid with our first. Unless he's just too good to pass on.
Yep good to see we are playing Cedric forward, I've been banging on about trying him up there for a while, good to see **** reads and pays a lot of heed to BL BF.Cox another small forward option
We drafted one last year. Noah Answerth.Need a small shut down defender with speed. Really don't have one on the list. Wouldn't mind us looking at the state leagues with a late pick or something for a mature player with some good defensive skills and pace and backing us to refine and develop the rest.
Definitely disagree with Rich’s speed.I wouldn't call Rich "slow"
He has great closing speed and is a very good contested mark.
Hard pressed remembering being caught HTB either.

It's not so much that we need a small defender, I believe it's more that we need to restructure our defence somewhat.
I know Hodge has been a major benefit in directing and helping to develop our defensive personal, but with Hodge, Witherden and Rich, we are incredibly slow and don't really have a smaller shut down defender with this line up.
Berry isn't a small defender.Although we do have in the wings Thomas Berry, Noah Answerth and Cedric Cox
Berry isn't a small defender.
Berry isn't a small defender.
Thomas Berry is a competitive beast, team player and strong tackler. He is considered a midfielder or small defender with impressive pace.
What I was saying was that imo he is midfielder/fwd. He was played in the defensive area in his draft year and did pretty badly. So l wouldn't put him there.Turn it up!! Where did I say that?..might pay to read what's there....What I highlighted was that in the wings we have a smaller shut down defender .. Harris Andrews is 201cm, Adams and Walker 198 cm Darcy Gardnier 193 cm Witherden is 188cm and still looks small.. Hodge 185cm and Rich is 183cm, Thomas Berry is 185 cm same height as Hodge - 8cm shorter than his brother that makes him a smaller shut down defender...

But why put a player there that won;'t do a good job?Berry is whatever he wants to be and more.
