You would expect Smith to have been offered an extension already so it will be a concern if he enters the season without having signed. Cox, Allison and Hinge would all be at risk you would think. I reckon Wooller's versatility will save him provided he shows development. Again, depending on whether he wants a new contract.Pretty much the same.
Will be interesting to see what the club does between now and the draft.
Personally, I’d like to see the club move up in the draft order to pick Will Gould with our first pick. Might only have to move up to the Bulldogs pick to draft Gould, and we shouldn’t have to give up our first two picks to move up 3 spots.
But I would be hesitant to make such a trade before the draft, as I’m not keen on a few of the players, in terms of list fit for us, who are rated by draft watchers in the 10 to 16 range.
Makes it difficult for Noble and co. to trade out a few of the picks without a good grasp of which kids the teams ahead of us are targeting. But I’m sure they have a far greater grasp of this than I do.
On a related topic.
Next years the list squeeze is looking more brutal than this year already.
Especially for those players only signing one year extensions.
It’s really make or break next year for some of the younger players.
Cox, Allison, Wooller, Ely Smith and Hinge all out of contract.
Steph Martin and Birchall are the only two potential retirees.
I assume you mean live picks. Do we not need also to use late picks on the upgrades (Big O and Hinge)?I wouldn’t be surprised if we only looked at taking 3 picks to the draft. One early pick, and two late picks in the 50’s for Coleman and Cumberland. Or we take 4 picks if we’re unable to trade up, 16, 21 and two late picks in the 50’s.

Yes we do. Need 2 picks for Hinge and Oscar upgrades.I assume you mean live picks. Do we not need also to use late picks on the upgrades (Big O and Hinge)?

So if you wanted to take 4 in the draft and 2 rookie upgrades, you would need 6 main list spots.I think it's changed these days and rookie elevations aren't technically picks in the draft anymore, you just need to elevate them and the amount of draft picks available to you takes that into account (i.e. amount of senior list spots available).

I don’t know where he’s hiding that 106kg.Really haven't paid a lot of attention to the draft this year with us actually having a great season but now that it's approaching really hoping Will Gould is our guy and ends up sliding or we trade into a position to get him. Didn't see much of this year's champs but did see him play and looking at his combine testing no way he's that slow. Maybe just tests poorly but regardless would love him to add him to our defensive unit. Also if he is legit 106kg at the size he is now and moves like he does on the field then look out once the puppy fat drops and he adds a little more muscle.
I don’t know where he’s hiding that 106kg.
Maybe he is thick set and most of it is muscle that he hasn’t tapped into yet. Weight doesn’t always equal fat.Gotta wonder if it's legit or some kind of error. Thinking it must be the latter; he's fat, but that just seems way too out there. If he is legit 106kg at that size he is going to be unstoppable when moving once in a full time football environment. Regardless looks like a natural footballer. Want.

You see what I see.I think weight is pretty in-discriminatory but looking at him now I would think he is fat or at least overweight in the same way the Rockliff was at draft time. I still wouldn't think he's 106kg but if he is that's why I'm thinking he's going to be a machine because his lean muscle has to be off the charts to be that weight at that size and age. Regardless, he moves well, he's got nice aggression, reads the game wonderfully and knows how/when to attack and has a nice long kick. We have Rich that can do similar but no one else and Hodge's role is open so he'd be a great pick up for now and the future. Want.
Out of that list Dodongo can only see Smith and Wooler make it as AFL players. Dodongo won't be surprised or sad if the other 3 are not on our list in 2021. Its make or break for those 3
You see what I see.
I also like that he would come in and be good insurance if Darcy Gardiner went down with another shoulder injury.
I hope he’s the kid the club is trying to move up for, because I see Gold Coast selecting him at pick 15.
Bulldogs pick 13, trade them 16 and 34.Yeah, seems he could play bigger if needed. Pretty similar to May but for us insurance, Rich 2.0 is how I'd like to see us use him. Hope Gold Coast aren't interest but I'd be fine with us throwing everything in for 1 pick in in the 10-14 range and some picks next year. Not like we have the list spaces to need our picks this year.
