Cal Twomey has us taking Rivers with our first pick in his Phantom Draft.

I'd be very happy with that. Bianco's probably my preference though.
Rivers definitely my preference there.

At our second pick, one of Dylan Williams or Jeremy Sharp will be available if the draft pans out this way.

Gold Coast nail the draft if Brodie Kemp slides that far. And top it off with Gould.

I admit I was a it jealous seeing those two fall to them. Rivers would be good but I just think the potential of Gould could be really high

Gunna be a few upset high ranked Vic lads with 7 interstate teams in the top 10
Have heard that Hayden Young is not real keen to head West. But it may be where he ends up.

Dylan Williams will be a very good get at 29.
Almost felt like we'll get a Jamie Elliott through draft when reading his profile.

Flynn Perez, Elijah Taylor or Nick Bryan at our third pick.

Elijah Taylor & Charlie Comben were the 2 that i was tossing up. I just have the feeling a ready to go depth player like Partington suits your list whilst your contending for top 4. If a Neale, Robinson or McCluggage go down then Partington would relieve the pain slightly.

We have a lot of second and third year kids on our list that will be ahead of Partington. Probably about 10 or so.

Bryan is one of two or three genuine number 1 rucks in this draft.

We need a young developing ruck, and have the time to put a couple of years of development into him.

How many more CatBs can we have considering we'll have Madden and Eagles as CatBs in 2020?
Always been able to have 3 cat B rookies. For a while because of Eagles/The recruit we had 4. Will most likely have 3 again in 2020: Madden, Fullarton and Eagles. So we can't pick other Queensland players as Cat B.

That is an interesting point. I wonder if we're angling to still keep Eagles outside the normal count, in which case we may have an extra Cat B slot than we think, e.g. a Cumberland shaped spot.

We could have some interest in Georgiades from WA:

"Port Adelaide will consider calling his name as early as pick No.18, while Richmond (pick No.19), Brisbane (pick No.21) and Geelong (pick No.24) are also monitoring the mobile forward's availability."

Was that what we applied for our was it just to re rookie him as a cat b?

Coming in to the year, he was rated as the number one tall forward prospect.

Not sure I’d role the dice with our first pick though.

The articles were referring to the latter but I don't think the average media joe would know that we've had an extra Cat B rookie for the last few years. We only figured it out by a method of elimination.

Especially as we will be drafting principally for need you would think and another shortish KPF is not a need. The need thing is of course always subject to the "we rated x very highly and when he was still available at our pick ..." scenario.

Agreed, wouldn't mind a tall forward at 29, but at 21 I'd rather just get whoever slides out of Rivers, Day, Cooper Stephens, Gould and Rantall.

I thought our brains trust had been quoted as saying "draft for talent, trade for need". So why would we be drafting principally for need? Georgiades looked to have good talent before the injury and has shown a good work ethic to get his body back in shape, so if we draft him it'd be for that reason.

Pick 34 *maybe*.
