Think he will go earlier .

But doubt we pick another long term rehab prospect for a while.

Pretty content with avoiding draft entirely next 2 years myself , rather chase guys that have
been in the system for me , speeds up improvement .

Would be putting a lot of work into Briggs , Caldwell , obviously Ben King , Ben Ainsworth ,
in the next year or so offering them overs on contract length .

Really important we get Ryder , Howard , Jones done will really establish us as a destination
club...
I'm considering Jack Bytel our first round pick this year.
I guess it all depends on what Kemp's susceptibility to acl injuries is, but if he slipped to p12 you'd have to take him.
Specially since we've got the time up our sleeves to give him 18months of rehab.

If we don't find an immediate use for the pick we can always take it to the draft and live trade it into next year if we don't like who's available. Like a refundable scratchie ticket.
Kemp - Kemp - :star::star::star:

Yeah mate Bytel very impressive Kid , skills unbelievable.

Being going to the under 18s for last 5 years there is a significant drop off in next 2 years.

That's convenient since we'll be burning top picks on Bing anyway.
I'm still keen that they take a couple of quality kids this year though.
Biggy is a given, but l like pick 12 as a nice draft position to have.
Perhaps a late-ish 2nd too, although that might be in danger of getting lost on Biggy..

Do we have a gauge on where Biggy might be selected as to what points we will require.
Have read everything from a mid 20's to rookie draft.
Surely it is clearer than that!

I doubt anyone has him mid 20s. He's a project tall, I'd say a pick in the 40s or 50s if at all.

Biggys value would have jumped with him being the fastest kid in the combines, and at his size too.

I still think he'll rated as a third rounder or worse.

Would be nice if we had a pick in the 30s so we could speculate about the draft. Would have loved to see libba get another crack at getting some future stars

I can live with those draft picks for one year to make up for some poor draft decisions in the past but hopefully from next year we focus more on drafting like Gallagher said we would yesterday. We still need a midfield to get it to the quick players we’ve brought in over the past couple of years.

Ditto. We got some mature age recruits last year, got 5 established players this year, hopeful we find a way back into the first two rounds next year.

We have 51, 76 and 82. Only 51 has points attached, we go into the draft with a total of 259 points. Bids outside the first round receive a flat 197 point discount so we need to use 51 to match a bid of pick 39 (239 points with discount) or later for Biggy. After pick 56 we just use our next pick, so just hope no-one values him higher >38 or 52-55.

we already are in the 1st round next year.

I have checked the National Draft rules and although we must use three selections, they can include rookie upgrades.

The way i read it we will only use one selection and that is Pick 51 (presumably for Biggie). Joyce has to be upgraded given he has been re-contracted and his time on the rookie list is up. Wilkie will be the other upgrade selection. Mayo Langlands and Marsh are all re-rookied for 2020. One Rookie Draft Selection awaits.

So that means 8 primary list changes.

Armitage and Longer already gone. Steven Bruce and Acres Traded. White & Rice look to be certain delistings. There are only two uncontracted players left so, one of Brown or Newnes will be delisted.

If i am correct then Libba and his team have little to do on draft night except look out for any Biggie surprises and find a player in the rookie draft.
