He suits our needs the best, question is.. is he going to be at our pick? Just depends on what the clubs ahead of us do.. played half the game in the guts and was among the top disposal winners then played second half and took multiple contested grabs and kicked 2.2.. upside is huge

Do the Demons and Hawks have a tough run in - I don't see why everyone is convinced we'll be at pick 5

It's a bitch, Young and him look the goods. It's a shame we ****ed up by not actually having a stock pile of elite running backs still. Savage is the best of them this year.

A long way to go, but if Green wasn't bid on by the time our pick comes up I'd be offering it up for the Giants two first rounders. Grab a pair like Robertson and Stephens.

Giants get to grab a gun kid with 4 or 5 and get Green for peanuts. We get two midfielders that complement each other.

Good thought, we either get one good kid or two. Usually a bit of a difference between 5 and 15+ though.

Yeah, but I'd much prefer there to be some clear mids that stand up to top 5 pick standard (other than the current unattainable 3) and we take one of them

The academy system is absolute garbage, last year and again this year all you hear is such and such academy player.

The concept of an uncompromised draft is long gone and just getting worse, we need to finish bottom six to get access to the sort of bonus picks some clubs are getting every year. How in gods name can we possibly hope to compete against that, this is like getting ripped off with zoning all over again.

Seriously the AFL can go and take a flying jump, someone should tell them that their not the only option these days with cable I can watch anything.

its absolute garbage alright. you should see the kids they're signing up.

1) kids from multicultural backgrounds from within the city who have grown up playing footy all their life. some from AFL families
2) kids from the city whom have grown up around the game and from families that follow the sport, but they just have never played the game for a footy club. you watch families start to keep their kids out of the auskick pathway just to get listed in the academy

Yeah it was definitely his best game for us. I hope he can become a mid but his tank looks Dunstan like.

the academies should only be a thing to keep kids in the game at the next level down. not a way to poach elite talent. sure ya can have access to them, if they're still in the system post the draft

I watched him play VFL and he seemed quicker, his AFL form this year made him look like he was running in knee deep mud.

Yeah, but where did he play....wasn't in the guts as far as I could see. I think he'll be a great player for us, but I'm not 100% he'll make it on the inside is all - still could for sure, but he has seemed lost in there for the 1's

Watched him in a few VFL games too and he run them out fine, I just think he was just lacking some confidence and needed a few AFL games in a row to find his feet again
