It’s impossible to say who will be there at our picks, we just have to wait and hope someone we rate slips to us.

We have a lousy hand and have managed to hamstring ourselves next year as well. During the trade period there were quite a few posters banging on about just getting trades done and why does it matter what we get for Bruce as long as it gets us Jones etc.

Well trading like two bob millionaires not trying to “win” trades gets you a draft hand like ours. I can’t believe we couldn’t have done better we were bent over in just about every trade imo. I like the players just not the trades and now we’re about to find out the price of rolling over.

Gee how I hope Geelong draft a sack of spuds.

Bruce and Stuv trades were absolutely terrible outcomes for us and coupled with top dollar trade ins for Howard and Hill means we haven't got much of a hand to play.

If Trent Bianco is still there at pick 27 (as predicted by Cal Twomey on afl.com.au) for the Cats then we should seriously go to them with our 2020 1st for that pick, their future 1st and say a future 3rd.

He would be perfect for us and it doesn't break the rules because we are getting a 1st round pick back our way.

Considering they wouldn't be nice trading for Stuv, I doubt they get all cuddly now.

People who can play tall forward: King, Battle, Membrey, Ryder, Howard, Marshall, Carlisle, Mayo. Dunno if I'd call that scarce, that's 1/5 of our senior playlist.

ryder - only good for 1 goal a game at his age. Will play seniors for his rucking ability only. The fact he will rest forward is for team balance.

carlisle - no
mayo - in the reserves, sure

Only "tall" forward who we know is good for the seniors is King... yet to debut...

Only 4 Jacks listed as possibles and none in the top 30 . No wonder we traded out of this draft so quickly . Maybe some of those Jacks will still be around when we get to our picks . After all we have lost Jack Steven and Jack Newnes , we need to make up the numbers again.

Ive heard from a guy down the pub , so it must be true , that Riewoldt , Plugga ,Hall , Hamill and G-Train are all making comebacks to the Saints this year to give a bit more bite to our forward line . If nothing else we will scare the opposition silly and win all the fights once Plugga puts his weight back on . Robbie Muir is also thinking about a comeback , he sees a spot in the forward pocket just waiting for him to take it . Apparently Stephen Milne wants the other pocket too .

And Billy Slater wants to play as a defensive forward on the HF line .

I think it's probably both - can't imagine they wouldn't register, but there doesn't appear to be much talk about them being a chance of getting picked up....

I just can't agree with taking someone with a head like that. Sometimes football isn't the most important thing.

battle - hes played forward but yet to prove he is a forward, Better kick than most of our players, more likely than King given he's actually played.
ryder - only good for 1 goal a game at his age. Will play seniors for his rucking ability only. The fact he will rest forward is for team balance. He's an AA ruck/fwd, he's good for as many goals as any other bar Membrey.
howard - was no good up forward at port, No he was pretty decent fwd for Port, he just prefers def so was told to look around cos his future at Port was as a fwd.
marshall - to be determined, Player of his calibre will be good anywhere. Drafted as a KPF.
carlisle - no, Yes.
mayo - in the reserves, sure, 8th on the list, we clearly don't need a 9th.

Only "tall" forward who we know is good for the seniors is King... yet to debut...That's unnecessarily pessimistic. Of all the players King is least likely after Mayo given he's missed 2 years of footy due to injury and hasn't debuted. Criminally underrating Battle, Howard, Ryder, Marshall and Carlisle.

Stewart was a late pick. But anyway they’ve managed to remain competitive for a very long time. No flags since 2011 but surely we can judge them on wins and losses. Wells is clearly better than most. I’d certainly take him.

Stewart is a gun. But he was also playing with Scarlett who worded Geelong up on him. I wouldn't credit him to Wells.

Anyway, let me do my research and I'll throw it up here in a day or 2
