Gold Coast have lost the plot with that trade.

2020 pick 11 and pick 64 for pick 27.

Madness.
Makes sense to me. They want a group of 8 to 10 kids to be drafted within two years so they hopefully stay together. They also have a great pick anyway next year. They have drafted as well as freo. 1 and 2 by a fair way

Jack Steven doesn't qualify as a good kick.

And was drafted as an underaged when the rules were different.
Oh please
Narkle at Geelong pick 60
Point being to say there is nothing worth while at later picks is silly

Lol

WTF are lolnorf up to???

Yes, you can get some really great players with late picks. But the percentage chance of them being great, or playing over 50 games dramatically decreases after about pick 23.

There is a reason why players drop down the draft. It could be questionable skills, work rate, injuries, less scope for development etc. but they are lower picks for a reason.

Don't pretend otherwise. The chances of the players we pick up tonight ever becoming regular AFL players is slim. Some will make it, but most won't.

And we all still love Jack, but he has never been a great kick which is what the original comment you replied to was referencing.

Of course there will be good players. Unfortunately there will be a lot worse players around then thus lowering the odds. Obviously never had a punt in your life.
Put $50 on Hind playing forward last year

So who's still on the board worth getting excited about?

Shifter Sheehan, kudos to him for trying to find something original to say for each player, (whereas if you're a teacher writing school reports you start phoning it in with the students you barely remember "Solid performance, should take concentration to the next level next year" or "Must try better")

As he starts to get tired around our first pick, imagine his appraisals to get more and more leftfield:

human spider, just has arms and legs everywhere
faster than light, literally plays the game 10 minutes in the future
crafty player, once saw him build an artificial heart out of a broken sofa
this boy could mark a drop of engine oil falling out of overhead planes
etc

jesus, lets just assume that all aboriginal players are a massive flight risk and that moving to Sydney must be like being dropped on a nearby planet shall we?
