Have a look at the 11 tallest players on our list, and how long we've had them:

Alabakis - 2nd year
King - 2nd year
Carlisle - 5th year
Marshall - 4th year
Abbott - 1st year
Bell - 1st year
Howard - 1st year
Ryder - 1st year
Clavarino - 3rd year
Brown - 4th year
Austin - 3rd year

We tried to pick up talls early in the rebuild so that they'd have time to develop. How badly did that go? Eight years since we last played finals and we're still picking up bulk talls in the hope that we'll get it right eventually.

Imagine where we'd be now if we'd taken mids all through the rebuild instead of betting on talls?

So by R23 we could have 17 on our list who have played 100 or more games. Almost an entire starting 18.

Looks like a list profile of a team that is playing or about ready to play finals.

No highlights packages on the Saints site of any of the kids yet.

Bit disappointing
They’ve been pretty average all year TBH after being pretty good the last few years. Someone’s dropped the ball.

Didn't they lose their award winning Media Guru? His name escapes me
I'm sure someone will point it out! But your right it has def gone south in the last 12 months!

Much harder to have highlights ready to go with late picks. Wouldn’t have had them sitting there ready to post like previous years.
Parker, Hind and Young all had quick highlight videos last year.

Our next exciting event is the jumper presentation. Anyone know when that is?
Our next exciting event is the Big Footy Advocates Draft. George do you know when that is?

Still lack a bit of top end talent though. If we play finals it doesn't look like we'd give it much of a shake. Probably our bests are Gresham, Billings, Ross, Marshall, Hanners and Hill. Not a super star amongst them yet, although 2016 Hanners was a star. We really need Hunter, King and Battle types to become stars to step up into a more dominant side.

Hill's numbers this year should have had him in the AA team. He is a star.

I think we play finals from here. The list has depth, our best 18 looks very good, and we have a coach now who understands the modern game day tactics needed to be able to adjust during games.

Development time is over.

I reckon we are 12 months off finals at least. King is going to have to be better than his brother at 17 goals for the year to really carry the forward line. Membrey had his worst year when bruce was missing and can't do it all. We will need mass improvement to step up and our fixture isn't as good as last year. I have us in the 9th to 15th zone still. A really big step up across the board and we could play finals but I don't think we'll do a Brisbane or Melbourne 2018.

So many list changes will make a pretty unsettled side as well.

We are keeping a couple of spots open for the supplemental window in Feb-March and possibly to get someone in the mid season draft.

No point picking the 80th best player now when we can get half a dozen to come and train with us, see who gels with the group, maybe find an older bloke with a bit of leadership/coaching etc

Pretty sure you can’t just leave spots open. I am pretty sure that window and mid season is purely for injury replacement and can only use those selections if we place someone on injury list .. I’m
Probably wrong but I was pretty sure you had to fill your list by the deadline and those periods were open for injury replacement .
