Another Clayton disaster.
We lose two top ten draft picks in 24 hours with no chance of getting similar picks in return-so difficult to make any progress.
To me the most important people in clubs are Recruiting officer and list managers.Their decision can make o break a club.
Ditto - Brisbane great decisions
Port -bloody awful.

Agree with you entirely.
If we had recruited our 17 year olds properly in our first year we could have had Brodie Smith, Ben Jacobs, Jordan Murdoch who have all played 100 games - whereas Taylor Hine, Piers Flanagan, and Hayden Jolly were worthless

To be fair - Port had a bob each way - bought in big time to last years draft and it appears to have paid off in spades... at the same time recruited all these mature agers who have had zero impact and set the club back

In our situation, B.Ellis would not be the worst.

I am not a fan of the way he plays, but he does have some things that we really need.

1. Can run all day, and does run all day.
2. Very durable, does not miss many games.
3. Young enough so that he would be best 22 next year and has a real chance to still be best 22 in 3 and 4 years time.

As a free agent, takes up a list spot and cash but no draft assets.
As far as B graders go, we could do a lot lot worse.

Ah Chee rebounding defender along with Rich, Witherden, Starcevich,

Coleman might be looking for games at some point in the next 2 years - given he's already been killing it in the NEAFL - he's another half forward in the mix.

Good problem to have a stacked side! Just think that there will be players who are AFL worthy who will be playing NEAFL for you and therefore might be open to offers involving more playing time.
Coleman needs to be drafted first.

Doesn't really compute given that Max has already re-signed and Ben hasn't

Understand how it looks but the club is confident Ben will sign on. I understand the club's position with trying to get Max I know that it is on their long term radar - obviously it's complicated though as he's signed on until 2022 so we'd have to sell the farm to get him no doubt - not likely this off season but it's definitely on the clubs radar for the future.

Feel like it's just the club pushing back a bit - their way of saying, hey we are a club as well and have every opportunity to poach players.
More just about making a statement.

We do need run and carry but I’d prefer us to look at Isaac Smith over Ellis. Smith is faster, a better ball user and a better leader. Ellis is not overly quick just finds lots of space in a Tigs midfield that is overladen with talent
Me too but Smith owns a successful restaurant down in Melbourne with James Frawley. He won't move away.

James Brayshaw IQ = 4
