There was that whisper about Zac Fisher some time back, I wonder if the Suns will demand him. He already has 50 games of experience.

That was total BS cause Martin hadn’t even been to Carlton when that proposed trade was mentioned. Zac Fisher is very much a wanted player at Carlton still. Only player I can see be offered up is Levi Shitbolt

Looking at Carlton's list it's pretty lean pickings if players are involved.
Nic Newman had a good year and out of contract I think. Some reports had us interested in him last year.
Ranked 7th in rebound 50's and 15th in metres gained.
75% DE and still only 26 years old. I hope he's part of the deal.

We already have an over abundance of middle of the road tall players who are about to turn 30. I honestly don't think we need another one, especially one who is about to turn 30.Wright and Day are already under contract and King won't be traded this year.

However, I reckon a deal will be worked out in the end, we might not like it, but that is what we get I suppose.

Don't mind Newman but if GCS not his first choice last year why now. The more you allow other clubs to bend you the more they will bend you over now and next year and the following year.

Values Martin at pick 32 🤢
32 and 19 together will never get anyone pick 8. It's only equivalent on the points chart which is useless at signifying trade value. It only applies to bid matching, nothing else. Realistically that trade values Martin around pick 13-14.

agreed. but don't forget Carlton have spent the last 2 years publicly campaigning big name players and falling short. They won't let this one get away and will pay overs to ensure a deal is done.

Supposedly firming as favourites for Ellis
Whilst i would be happy with Brandon Ellis leaving i dont think he would be a good fit for the SUNs any longer, I would be over the mood to get an end of 1st round pick if the $$$ being mentioned are correct but dont think he is a good fit. I dont like to use the word soft but he avoids contact and takes short steps and dont think thats what you guys need at this stage.

That's not good. You can't be avoiding physical contact. Well, if he comes, hope they get him to realize it's part of the game, you put your body on the line in this sport. Otherwise might as well find something else to do.

He has played his worst 2 games of the year against Brisbane, But in his defence i think that mitch robinson was the main reason and he got into his head and kept on smashing him throughout the game but thats not an excuse for a 25 year old with 175 games under his belt.

Would be a good get for a team that needs outside run and has a crap load of cap space and wants to get a winger for free (picks)
I would love for a team like fremantle to get him lol

In the words of Owen Wilson “wow”!!!

Top 5-10 players being delisted next year sure that seems about right
you clearly dont watch carlton games and thats fine, he's completely rejuvenated him self as a player this year, took 9 intercept marks not long ago an equal record high

That's exactly what gold coast need, we already have the inside bulls but no outside users.

Well then he is your man , Averages 23 touches and 2 tackles and half a goal a game at 74% disposal efficiency
but for the people who like him here is something that will make you happy check out the comparison below

Out: Martin
In: Ellis + pick for Martin

I like Ellis but I think Rowell will do a decent jobs playing outside. High draft pick are wasted if they play NEAFL, will ask to be trade if you keep them too long there.

EDDIE BETTS

Carlton are spending the week going into due diligence as they chase an array of small forwards. There seems no doubt Betts wants to play at Carlton. But they ain’t paying his wage — upwards of $500,000 but not as high as the $600,000 reported. Neither will the Crows pay a portion of his wage for him to run around in rival colours. So if he is at Carlton he will take a sizeable pay cut.

Gold Coast makes more sense financially on a two-year deal but there is little clarity on his future other than it won’t be at the Crows.

SHAUN BURGOYNE

Will be hard to knock back a four-year offer from Gold Coast to join them in a Luke Hodge-type role from 2020. The Hawks would love to keep Burgoyne but need to make changes to lower the age profile of their list. Burgoyne has a young family, but the long-term contract offer up north is a juicy carrot.

BRANDON ELLIS

Gold Coast is entertaining a four or five-year deal to land the Richmond premiership defender. As a free agent, the Suns don’t have to give away anything at the trade table for him. Carlton has pulled out of the race after making a strong play for him earlier in the year. The Tigers are managing a tight salary cap and could secure a second-round pick as free agency compensation.

CALLUM AH CHEE

Will go to Brisbane and while he is a former No. 8 in the 2015 national draft he has battled with various issues and there is a concession it won’t be for a high pick. Suns have supported him strongly but are aware he needs a fresh start.

ZAC SMITH

The former Gold Coast ruckman is the only one of the Cats rucks out of contract and could look to head home. If that’s the case the Suns would be interested, but first have to work out what they will do with Tom Nicholls.
