Reports emerged on deadline day that Gold Coast would select the intercept defender via the pre-season draft if his move to the Bulldogs fell through.


Keath, who was drafted to the Suns in 2009 before pursuing a career in cricket, denied they were interested in signing him.


“I’m not aware of any interest whatsoever from the Gold Coast,” Keath said.


“I hadn’t heard from my manager that that was even a possibility and they (Gold Coast), as far as I know, hadn’t made any contact with my manager.

Trade talks between Adelaide and the Dogs stalled so It would have just been his manager using his connections in the media to get talks moving again by using us they all do it

So all new selections mean delistings. I would expect these to come out in the next few weeks likely by the end of the month.

Some players might need to be cut, so we can take advantage of the pre-listing concessions for Academy players, including Budarick & maybe some others. It doesn't mean the delisted players wouldn't be re-rookied.

I'm not sure we'll still have picks 15 & 20 by draft time. I reckon we'd be open to trading them for something more useful. We don't want too many kids.

It would seem Martin and him management are a match made in heaven they are both as stupid as each other.

You would think after failing to get Martin to Essendon last year you would think his manager would encourage him to re-sign for an extra year and get him to free agency to avoid all of this mess.

Exactly and they are exactly the types we need big bodied hard runners not skinny flankers.
You chuck in Rowell Anderson and don't forget Rankine who is basically a new No 2 pick the upside in King Luko Bowes Fiorini Brodie Ainsworth etc. Big keys Thompson and Collins returning to defence and a good injury run and anything is possible IMO.

New era is here for the Suns. First cause of business is to cut strings with Martin. If he doesn't want to be here he can F off. The young group don't need to be exposed to the negativity if he stays in body not soul. We have been handed a golden opportunity by the AFL to draft quality kids who are mates. We have a young list who will thrive in a positive environment now we have the infrastructure and personal in place. Onwards and upwards and never look back. Time to believe.

Talent and reality are very different things is my point. If Jack Martin is so highly regarded why was he dropped exactly? I'm going to say for not working hard enough. Which has been the downfall of so many talented players.

got dropped for a hand injury for one game and then the second was precaution then the other two were "agreed between him and the club" that he miss out and build his form.

If our list spots are tight, I think it’s best to take quality over quantity.

Saw on a draft board a Hawks supporter say that if Maguiness wasn't taken on the first night that he hoped the Hawks would offer their 2020 1st for our pick 20 at the start of the 2nd day.

I would be wanting that pick and a late 2nd / early 3rd to use on a player we like that is not highly rated.

Great suggestion.

Do we try to use 15 + 20 to get top 10 pick?
