Depending on Marin and Holman we got now 3-5 spot available on the senior list. Not enough for 4 picks (1,2, 12, 20) and let's say Budarick and Rosas. It looks to me that Suns will be allowed to pre-sign academy/NT kids and put them directly onto the rookie list rather than having to create senior list spots for them.

Whilst he is obviously better than heron and Dawson at this point in time the guy has had 1 good afl season in his career. Was serviceable last year. Not sure we need to hang on to players like that. We gave him an extra 2 years when his career was basically over at port.

Ben, we have to take into account that every mother father brother sister wife gf,believe the world revolves around their beloved, and they can do no wrong, and if things go pearshaped then it must be down to someone or something else....it's just a natural reaction.

My suggestion to those involved, as tough and unjustified as they may think it to be...what's done is done so build the bridge.

Unfortunately it's a business these days and I may be wrong but Heron and Dawson are on contract while Young wasn't? I'd much prefer Young over those two who will more than likely go (with Schoenfeld) next year when their contracts are up. Lemmens could probably be in that bunch too. There's still a chance Young might get a rookie spot or get redrafted in the pre draft, so not dark yet for him. We can't keep the same guys (no matter how nice they are) and lose 18 games in a row again - it's a hard tough game. I'm just hoping for a more competitive effort for a full year and 5 - 8 wins if we really transform.

After talking to some of the families that may be involved I think he is sort of correct , it may be along the lines of free agency. Let’s say the Suns want to list Matt Conroy, the AFL May say he is rated 70 to 100 so the suns can pick him which means they go into the draft without pick 93. It’s there to prevent a situation where some clubneeds a ruckman and selects Conroy at 40 and the suns need to match. This means that we probably won’t get our choice of all of our academy and NT players

FWIW I think Dawson had a good last few weeks of the season, started getting more of the pill. Will be a decent depth player this season.

Heron I am not sure about however.

If we want to select Budarick as a rookie listed player than the other 17 teams can select him in the national draft. Same goes for Rosas.

If we pre select them both in the national draft we are assured of the players with no cost of draft picks

Heron I am not sure about however.

He can find the ball - but he’s playing as a back pocket and I don’t think he anywhere near the athleticism or strength in the contest required to play on your good small forwards of the game.
I think he’s a decent 2nd grade midfielder personally.
