Thinking about the little I've seen from Rowell and Anderson if I was looking for player comparisons I would say:

Rowell - cross between Selwood's hardness and will and the power of smaller but better Clayton Oliver

Anderson - have not seen as much of him but maybe could play that Degoey role of a tall midfielder that can go forward and snag multiple goals

On 360 the other week the described each other as Selwood and Fyfe. Id say Anderson is more the tallish outside goal kicker from what I have seen.. My visual was a Duncan/Pendles type but no comparison is exact and how they transfer is not always true either.

I know Stk and Haw are spewing they didnt play his dad extra games. It would not surprise me if Stk select him if he is there at their pick.. he is dad is still there I believe. I doubt there would be a side in the afl that could not find a spot for either .. maybe Melb more Anderson than Rowell but even they have o replace Jones soon.. and they have blown it previously thinking they had enough inside kids.(not picking Wines)

Remember when we traded pick 2 away for Weller and Ballard... I think we are winning that trade. If we resign Lukosuis, Rankine and King the last two year drafts have been successful. Pick up one of the top 2 picks and a few academy picks the list isn’t as weak as we think!! How good is Fiorini and Bowes this year

I hope they don't use ND pick on academy player apart from Budarick , don't waste list spot for two years like before, you can't really delish them if they are not good ,

Don't really care Ace or Greenwool as long you can rookie A or B them, just like people said in mainboard Fremantle Fan asking for Martin, I only care about great draft pick in return, those St kilda and Port fan can go F*** themselves giving pick 16-18 for him like stocker pick. You don't care about Eagles, Collingwood and other club fan when it come to trade, get the best deal and run. Miles and Corey Ellis deal is a great example how should a deal get done.

Oea will be a category C rookie (overseas)

I know many don’t like old mate chicken..
But he has his contacts.

Not sure how I feel about this. Roughhead is on his last legs.
Would be fine running around in NEAFL and teachingLukosius king Wright Corbett etc.during the week at training
Similar to a Rischa to the Mids this year.

But for one of the above to lose a senior spot to Roughead would be poor list management

From the AFL website today.

The Suns have met with 18-year-old midfielder Kyle Dunkley and would pounce if he's still there at their current No.3 selection. Also have strong interest in 23-year-old Coburg defender Lochie Dickson. Young midfielders Cody Hirst and Mitch Riordan are other considerations for the long-term.

Dunkley won't be there by our pick I don't think.

I like the look of Lochie Dickson. Anything to sure up our defensive stocks. Also wins the ball as a medium defender, so can rebound. And can play mid.
I agree, would love Dunkley, but the Blues or Roos will snap him up.

Dickson would be a decent pick up bolstering our defence. 23 years old as well, so he will be a more mature body than picking up an 18 year old kid.

If North beat the Bullies and we lose to Geelong, we'll have Pick #2 and be able to get one or the other, and I'd be happy with Dickson as well.

I like Sam lowson as small forward , Ainsworth can move permanently to midfield with his better disposal. Lowson just look natural footballer.

Don't mind this if it's true. He's certainly not the Coleman Medal winning Roughy of 2013 anymore but he can impart invaluable knowledge to our young key forwards ala Luke Hodge at the Lions and obviously has great leadership skills as a former captain of the Hawks. He's basically exactly what we need at this stage of our development. If we can strike with a Lachie Neale-esque acquisition this off season as well then we could very well fast track our way into the finals in 2020. Probably wishful thinking at this stage but I'm sure our recruiters have several feelers out there right now. In all likelihood, our Neale type of recruit will come 12 months later though.

1-2 years to late I reckon.
He’s cooked wouldn’t want to waste a list spot on him.

But would be happy if he wanted to come up in a full time coaching/mentoring role

The way it was described was playing assistant coach, which I was thinking was ala Andrew Swallow playing for the NEAFL team. No list spot required.

Hi there Gold Coasters. Pardon my intrusion. I've had a quick look at your board and not immediately apparent where you can ask about particular profiles as you don't appear to have specific player threads. Anyway my query is around Will Brodie. Grew up with, played with, and a good mate of Jy Simpkin, one of the young, up and coming stars (we don't have a lot right now) playing for North. They were both obviously from the same draft but Jy has played a lot more games than Will despite the fact that Will was taken in the top 10 a little later on at 12.

Can some astute Gold Coast watchers give me an idea as to why Brodie appears to have stagnated at the moment. Does he have the talent still? Has he fallen out of favour with the coaching staff? Curious as a North supporter as we'd probably consider bringing the two boys back together if he's not in Gold Coast's future plans. In saying that completely understand if he's just a slow burner. Jy only really started to hit his straps in the last month.
