I said the way Gore ran to position in one contest reminded me of Toby Greene.

Good to see you don't rate Fiorini at all.

From what I have seen last week Conroy ,Gore, Crossley and Budarick have some AFL traits that are likely to attract the attention of interstate afl clubs and may attract bids (Budarick very high) therefore Suns may have to match with late draft picks

Budarick bid is no where near Green from GWS he is a beast. Happy to use Brisbane First or exchange pick with Sydney if Budarick stock go up end of U18. GWS got Shipley pretty cheap with No bid in his draft year.(top 30). People need to be calm when it come to academy players, club don't simply bid on players if there is better talent around. If Taheney or Gould around why would club bid Budarick knowingly GCS will match.

The better talent may only be moderate talent when they are away from their family and friends. There should be at least two academy players chosen each year to give the kids in the system hope and PR reasons alone. Some of the academy kids have just as much talent as the Vic kids but are only just being exposed to the better competition

Absolutely not. Much better player than Brodie with a far more well rounded game and ability to play down back.

Only one of those players was actually drafted by the Suns and its Connor Nutting who you have listed as "probably" a failure. Who was best available at pick 55 in 2017 that was the more obvious choice?

Poor kid yet to play a game yet, Heron and Dawson didn’t disgrace themselves at AFL level either

Goes to show my ignorance around the draft. To me those guys all came out of the academy into our squad. Not sure how differentiating them into rookies / senior listed makes much of a difference.

Nutting has some AFL qualities. Last neafl game was good but been pretty poor otherwise.

Watching Dawson and heron in the reserves. Just can’t see it at AFL level with either of them I’m afraid.

All 3 have been on the list a couple of years and don’t look near it to me.

All of these types of scenarios need to be considered. I'd preferer if there was a way to improve our midfield (considerably) without losing Lukosius or Rankine. I reckon Adelaide wouldn't take anything else but one of those.

It's a worry that the development of Luko, Rankine and King (and Wright) somewhat depends on us building a better midfield — quickly.

This year is what it is and we need to keep the effort coming, but next year's midfield will be key to our rebuild. We must deliver our big three recruits more, and more consistent ball, because they're good enough and smart enough to know that other teams can.
