If you hated your work place would you stay?

I don’t believe for a second they “hate it”. I’ve never heard a player that’s moved on use those words either.
And yes-I have stayed on in a challenging workplace for a decade and having seen it now turn around and be successful has been incredibly satisfying.

It’s the self-entitled saying to us stay down there and just be thankful you exist.
Yeah nah.
The other guy was right, tone it up actually, it's pretty funny seeing you invent things out of thin air. I literally said nothing even close to what you're saying

The original apology followed by my exact comment on what your club is doing followed by then you going straight into the insults proves my point.
Good luck against GWS.

People change jobs all the time. Or work places. When things get stale, or need a fresh start. Sometimes it helps your career.

Good luck to him.

Turn it up. Footy is different, remember the theme song to the old Footy Show “more than a game” etc.
Clubs advertise themselves as family too.
Playing for Collingwood or Footscray for you and the Dog might be akin to delivering Pizzas for Dominos but I see being an AFL pioneer for our Little City as more like a Vocation.

That’s my last contribution on this matter. Anymore retorts by anyone I’ll be refraining from replying to.

Things to do.

The last couple of days I was getting ready to post that I just didn't have it in me to "get up" for this trade period and drink the kool aid of hope that we get every year even though I have always been glass half full on our future regardless. Here I am a day later getting right into the "what if's" regarding whose coming and whose going so I guess I am ready for another glass of kool aid for 2020
It’s the only time of year we appear to be competitive!!!

I think you are comparing very different things there in my opinion, at the end of the day, footy isn't life and death like having a wife/husband and children is. It is a game and a job to these blokes. He has given 7 years to the club.

It is up to us to convince these guys to stay.

However, that is just how I see it.

My beef was he was so unprofessional.

Gets Dew to promise him midfield time and then mailed in the whole season. At least Dangerfield showed up in his last year and gave absolutely everything. Martin gave nothing and pouted like a little bitch.

Martin can **** right off.

Yeah not surprising.
He has given 7 years to the cause hard to knock him for that.
Now that he has gone, I don’t mind being honest, I used to see him drinking regularly at the Mermaid Tavern. Try that in Melbourne and expect to be heavily scrutinised. The public miss nothing down there.
Good luck and thank you for your services. Right, so we expecting a mid-late first round pick for him? 15-21? What’s Greenwood worth? Wrap him and Betts up? Or could we use that to grab Ed Langdon from Freo? Hopefully 🔒 has been pressing him to come.

Ellis was on a 1 year deal.

We have to bare in mind though that he had an injury plagued year for the first half of this season and struggled to find his rhythm/form when called into the seniors. Averaged 18 disposals over his 4 games this year.

He went at Pick 12 in the 2014 national draft so the upside is definitely there plus he is only 22 years of age. I think he gets another chance and stays on for another year to prove himself.

What is that upside? What do you think are his elite traits?

Jack Martin and us are in a bad marriage and we are bringing out the worst in each other, whether its because the coaches have not settled him in a position to own or he just stayed one more year too long and regretted not going it has meant he has taken a spot we could have used someone wanting to be here and we have devalued his trade worth...…. Jack has to go for our sake and his

His s**thouse attitude and form means we will most likely get at best a early 2nd for him

With so many clubs interested in Martin, it should be a decent and long term contract offer.
Whichever club he chooses, we must chase their 1st with our pick 17 going back.
If we can use him to grab a top 10 kid this draft, I’d take that.

He couldn't even get out of his own way last year to get out of the club. He picks Essendon who were focused on Dylan Shiel and had no chance of doing the deal then plays like tripe all year.

Seems he wasn't happy with the new regime that were focused on footy and his drinking buddies left.

How many list spots do you think we will have to fill and what new players are likely to be on our books Any surprises install.

In this draft probably not the smartest move.
I'm not a super keen draft follower but read what those in the know say.
Top 2 clear standouts - very even for the next 15 or so picks.
Don't think pick 8 is hugely more valuable than pick 14 for instance.

I'd do 9 and 39 for Martin and 15-16

Fact of the matter is Jack is talented and will be an asset for his new team.
He / we couldn't make it work up here.
Even if what we get is under - it's better than what he would have produced had he stayed.

The disappointing thing is it didn't work out for him here - not what we get in a trade.

I'd love to see if the Dogs are interested in swapping Toby Mclean somehow - he's a midfielder playing forward, Martin is a forward playing midfield.
Martin + GC 2020 second rounder for Mclean and Bulldogs 2020 second rounder?

Bulldogs will almost certainly go up the ladder a bit next year you'd think.
