I'd do 9 and 39 for Martin and 15-16

So you would consider the top 10 significantly better than the players that we could get at 15?

Would you say that Deven Robertson or Sam Flanders are significantly more valuable than Harry Shoenborg or Dylan Stephens?

Because if not - you're basically giving up Jack Martin for pick 40.

Sick of seeing us getting rorted at the trade table. We better stick fat and accept nothing less than a 1st rounder.

I think we have won the Last 2 trades from Frementle. At the time I thought we got screwed but hay I really rate Ballard and Weller and we all know how Bennel turned out.

Untapped potential? I see things a bit different. To have potential - you need to have traits - an identifiable outcome.
To me Wil Powell has potential. He is a great runner, that can mark overhead, has a nous for goals and is a nice kick. Can see the 90% outcome quite clearly - he's just got to achieve it.


I would say Ellis is a below average athlete, with a nice neat kick - certainly not elite kick and somewhat limited flexibility - don't think he can play forward.
The decision making is difficult just coming into a new team and only playing a handful of games - most with academy players - don't think you can really assess that just yet.


I'm just not sure who I picture him becoming in to 90% outcome.
Maybe a Taylor Duryea - but not as tough
Or Rory Atkins
Or Jarryn Geary without the leadership
OR Collingwood Chris Mayne

Some of those guys have played a lot of footy, so not saying there is a career for him. Just can't even see the signs that suggest he could be more than a fringe player even if all goes well.

Flanders clear best out of those 4, Stephens wildly inconsistent, Robertson would be the worst kick on team and schoenberg is a nice all round player but would be a Miller type. Flanders has X factor and sky high potential

So you reckon it is worth giving our Lions pick plus another assets to get into the top 10 to have a shot at Flanders, Gould, Ash, Young etc..

Yep. There is a clear top 2 then the next 6 or so then it’s open from 12-40

If we are awarded priority pick their should not be any strings attached. I doubt we would receive true trade value if the club is forced to trade.

It was also said, if it had to be traded, other clubs would hold that to ransom, so I dont think trading it would be wise.

He couldn't even get out of his own way last year to get out of the club. He picks Essendon who were focused on Dylan Shiel and had no chance of doing the deal then plays like tripe all year.

Seems he wasn't happy with the new regime that were focused on footy and his drinking buddies left.

I believe Mark Evans is on record saying their is no point in handing us a priority pick if it has to be traded.
He said something like clubs will just hold us at ransom knowing we have to trade it.
And the suns could not afford to pay a superstar player that would be worthy of a pick 2

Yeah, thats what Browne said, that other clubs will hold them to ransom. It will all happen tomorrow. That's when suns will present their presentation about the requests.

The only reason to get pick 2 is to get the 2 boys here and keep them here. If they were not best mates I don't think the AFL would give us the PP in the top 2
