Bringing in old guys on multi year deals who are looking for a superannuation boost is IMO a massive mistake

I know we need leadership but when it’s out Martin and Achee for old man Burgoyne the sum is a massive net loss. He has 1 year in him at best, when he has to chase as our skills aren’t up to it his age will be exposed
Call me negative but book mark this post. The future will dictate if I am a prophet or peanut

Bods we have heaps of kids he will be much better than GHS etc to DEVELOP kids because he has SKILLS.
He's probably worth it so at least once in my life I can see a player in a Suns Guernsey come off half back and hit a player on the chest in the forward 50

Hodge is younger than Burgoyne, would you give Hodge 3 years?
You're forgetting it's player/coach. What's the problem for him to play 1 more year and then go into coaching? He can still play in defence and would be incredible source of information, assistance to young players. Then working in welfare/academy/development - again why not?

Add Roughhead as a forward coach/recruitment - it would be perfect boost for the club.

By the way, as I understand Hodge will probably continue with Lions as a coach.

Yes! Love this.
Given I am from Victoria and now live in Brisbane, I grew up supporting Melbourne but joined the Suns up here because I thought that it would be good to support a new team rather than the Lions.
However I just can't understand how the Suns are going about hanging on to their players. Last year it was dropping Lyons and then showing him the door - his performance this year shows what an inspired move that was.
This year we played Day in the NEAFL for several rounds before he got back into the seniors. I feared we would lose him but he re-signed.
Then we dropped 2 meter Peter and left him in the NEAFL to finish the season.
And of course Martin in the week the club tables a contract offer to him, he gets dropped to the NEAFL and then doesn't play again for the year.
Gives the impression that people at the club do not talk to each other.
I just hope some club doesn't try and steal 2 meter Peter.

What about the 14 people we have resigned? Not everyone is going to stay that’s football

Definitely a peanut with that attitude.
😂

Clearly I am in the minority about Burgoyne, fingers crossed it works out

It is a risk for sure.
He wants 400 games so will need to play into year 2 of that contract to get there. If he is best 22 in 2 years time then we are failing.

But he does have a few things that we lack: elite skills, a track record which gives him credibility with all players and coaches, and lots of intellectual property about how to play. If he says something stinks, it stinks.

But I also hope it means we are avoiding bringing in other mature players.
Get Burgoyne and a bunch of 18 year olds this year. Would take that over some of the other options.

Gould at pick 3? hahah bruh...

I am taking Young, Ash or Kemp err day.
Gould is easily in the convo with Young and Ash. He is the most AFL ready player out of those 3, the best leader, best floor, just as powerful and good of a kick as those 2, much more explosive and powerful then those 2 as well. Gould will be absolute jet, my favourite player from this draft pool this year

No more improvement.
