Only weakness is his height and by extension overhead marking/effectiveness up forward. If he was 185cm+ he would be talked up as once in a generation player

he will by pure work rate. Has pace and endurance on his side and his work rate from contest to contest is the best ive seen from an inside mid at u/18 level. Once he adjusts his game to play with bigger bodies he will star

Simple really! We get Rowell and hopefully Anderson - retain Luko and King to add to Rankine. Get at least two experienced AFL seniors (ideally Greenwood and Ellis) and we are going to be competitive! ...and the silly thing is, it's not impossible. Now if only 2MP would grow a pair and hit the pack like Uncle Tom did last night, things are looking up. Lots of permutations yet but feels like we just might pull off a few deals this trade season. It's the experienced players we can't seem to get. P.S. Rowell's game was awesome!

2MP looks best a 2nd forward/2nd ruck. If King can get to 95kg+ and keep playing like he did last year our forward line will look great

95kg about right for him - maybe final weight at ~100kg
Don't think you would want King to be 105kg

Ultimately he's going to remain a leading, high marking fast player - not a wrestler.

Joe Daniher 200cm and 99kg is who we should model himself on - minus the chronic debilitating injuries..

Greenwood

As my wife put it last night.
Victorians resent the fact we take their players from the draft. Not to mention the fact, they still believe, in an underlying manner that it’s their game.
They have no interest in growing the sport and until our state wide under 10’s reach 16-18yrs of age and we can select our own players, we are going to be presented with an uphill battle.
We MUST understand this and approach it together as a given, not as an equal playing field out there. It’s stronger for the mind in the long run.

Ps. Greenwood’s uncle stated, he’s packing his bags for Hawthorne.

Shame if we have missed on Greenwood as well. But not surprising really when Vic clubs are also in the chase. Still waiting for the Ellis backflip in a couple of weeks

Yeah King isnt going to be your 100kg+ wrestling power forward. Will be a high marking explosion sort of forward. 95kgs gives him strength through the air without sacrificing speed and leap.

His father is originally from Brisbane and lives in Melbourne or his father is currently living in Brisbane? Two VERY different situations in terms of retention for us. Either way, presumably having extended family in south east QLD is a good sign but having immediate family (and in particular your father) would be huge for us. If his father currently lives in Melbourne then I'd be doing my best to convince him to come home to QLD and enjoy the journey with his son.

I guess we can call Rowell half a Queenslander

2MP looks like he should aim for the Josh Jenkins role
I know Jenkins is polarising but if Wright can achieve something like Jenkins' career I wouldn't be disappointed

Doesn't have the speed or agility of Jenkins. Wright works as a high CHF who takes marks up the ground and the odd mark forward. He just doesn't throw himself in enough contests

Rowell is easily the number 1 pick for us, he is a safe of a bet as Walsh, just does everything right. Carrying Oakleighs midfield so far, does all the hard work for the outside mids

I was tinkering with the idea that the pace and goal kicking of Anderson might prove better for us but every big game I see Rowell play he is BOG! Just wills his team to a win. Not bad for a guy only listed as 178cm. Is a Selwood / Oliver clone. If we don’t get the PP then Rowell must be our first choice.
