Butchers the ball but B.Crouch still has a career DE higher than Dangerfield, Martin, Fyfe, Parker, Coniglio, Cotchin etc.
7th overall for disposals in the league this year. Tackles, runs both ways.
In his 3 finals in 2017 he averaged 28 disposals and 8 tackles.
I doubt he gets a mil a season. Maybe in 2020 and it drops from there.
I think he just wants out of SA but 2 full years of not playing a single game in 2015 / 2018 is a big risk.

Tom Browne also said Papley to North Melb. He then got trolled by Papley's father for his BS then removed his tweet.
Forget the papley thing, Greenwood is coming. Bank on it. A player doesn't follow an opposition social media account, and then in turn not long after Wil Powell follows him; for no reason.

Yes, most deals between players and teams are done right now.
Yeah, most deals are usually agreed on about now. Trade period is just making those agreements formal contract wise.

Billy stretch be an alright get on the cheap. Have mentioned him here before as a winger who is young enough - on the fringe at Melbourne and played a few games.

When he played us though - the only time I saw him play - he was terrible. Had a few horrific turnovers.
Reviewing the stats - 19 possessions (57% DE) only 6 contested, 4 turnovers, 3 score involvements. Not a great game.

The thing I remember about him is he looks great getting the ball, running with the ball and then he has to make a decision or kick the ball and then you get concerned.

Better than Schoenfeld at the same position though.

He's at best A grade, not elite.

The blokes who were getting votes last night were elite.

He’s probably comparable to Prestia when traded. Both entering there prime, ball magnets but a bit injury prone and not the greatest disposal.

I think your idea of 14 this year plus swap of 1st’s next year is a good deal for the Crows and likely to end up in their favour.

I'm ok with the trade as long as 1 & 2 and last year draftees are not involved.

We still have enough pick currency with Martin, Ah Chee and Lions pick to provide fair value. Crows would ask for more and then the club just needs to be smart enough to not sell the farm and walk away .

It's all mute anyway as he's just posturing for the Crows deal.

Hate to put a damper on it but Tomlinson was heavily linked with STK a few years back and started following them. The deal never got done in the end.

If the Suns don't win games and climb off the bottom, those players won't re-sign. We've seen that movie before. I don't think that means they need to mortgage the future totally for short-term boosts, but it is vital to add a few good veterans. What mercenaries have you given up the world for? Ellis didn't come cheap perhaps, but a player like him is necessary.
In my dream fantasy world, if we could snag Ellis, Crouch (B) and Greenwood PLUS Rowell and Anderson(with PP if we get it) - then we have the nucleus of a good and consistent competitive side for the first time in a long time. Get Luko and King to re-sign on for the future and see some development in the young guys (Fiorini, Bowes, Brodie, Rankine and Ainsworth) - then is it too early to get excited about what we have brewing. The Vics would hate to see this scenario unfold!

good news with all these rumours, but i'm a little concerned in our KPP stocks, in particular defense. towards the end of the season, our three best KPDs were all injured, and we were massively exposed. i like the sound of the mids we're targeting, but fu**en hell we need some help down back.
Will Gould at Glenelg will be the one to go for and another SA addition to make GC a home away from home for all the current and future crop. Check him out - he's a bull and only 18 years!

I think a lot of players use us for leverage, but I believe we have made all the running with this one.

It's a difficult one as we have a lot of cap space in 2020, and he wants to sign a 5 year deal now. Waiting a year then eats into $$$ for our gun kids.

If we miss out I'd expect us to go hard on other targets regardless if they're contracted or not but not at the expense of, like you say (picks 1 & 2) or last years crop.

Apologies in advance, but can I be the Board's resident pedant and just say "moot"?
Moot courts are mock trial settings usually in Law Schools so the term "moot" has come to mean an issue that gets a lot of discussion without any real consequences- correctly used in this instance but just the wrong spelling

Ahh that makes perfect sense now, I thought he meant it had no sound. Lift your game OB, you are better than that.

Thurls l'm told he is but l was also told Burgoyne was 80+%.
But that was before it was roadblocked by wife for schooling etc. Which is fair enough.
I don't see the same issues with Greenwood
Leaving Melbourne at 37 with kids in High School is way different to leaving Adelaide for any reason
I was there on the weekend can confirm #shitadelaide
