Without jinxing it, seems done. I am gonna be stoked if this comes through hey. Really rate Hugh Greenwood.

You get 1 and 2 you take 1 and 2 because they're worth 1 and 2 into the foreseeable tradeable future- maybe even upgrade to another first rounder if they want trade away later
We're not going anywhere as a Club unless we roll the dice and start building with superstar potential
Especially when both look like exactly what Suns need. Midfield speed, breaking lines.

We had by the far the lowest brownlow votes awarded because we have no stars.
I look at our list and there are very few who can put on a match winning performance.

Even in our early wins Jack Martin was getting votes as he is recognisable and known - I don't necessarily remember him being our best on field

We beat the Bulldogs and Bontempelli gets 3 votes and Macrae 1 vote
We beat Freo and Sexton doesn't get a vote for 4 goals 5 and 17 disposals in a game where there were only 15 goals total.
Witts was a fantastic player all year but only gets 1 vote - behind about 12 other ruckman

Agree we need to get Anderson who could be an out and out star to elevate our list of potentially 'good' players

Corbett is Jack Darling without the ability once the ball hits the ground... which is probably Darlings strength.

For all the talk about how Adam Saad was nearly All Australian level this year and turned into a star once he got to Essendon - he still has more Brownlow votes and a better game/vote strike rate for us than Essendon despite almost double the amount of wins at Essendon.

Give him a bit time. Only played a handful o AFL games.
Yeah, not pulling the pin yet obviously. Has a few very good strings to his bow - work rate, fitness, overhead marking.

Jack Darling was an AA this year - so the blueprint is there for a good player. Like to see a bit more than kick mark this year though.

Also looking at Jenkins ONLY IF he's very cheap. They want some size around King and are not overly confident Corbett will make it and concerned with 2MP lack of physical presence.
SO I'M TOLD.
His manager Paul Connors said on the trade radio thing today Jenkins will be taking a huge pay cut to pretty much get the hell out of Adelaide
And Jenkins himself at the event said he’s happy to go anywhere.
Said he still has a lot of good footy left in him

Exactly. He’s 190cm and not competing for the role Day, 2MP, even Jenkins would be.
He’ll be a 3rd tall roaming due to his engine. The club are thrilled with Corbett.

Makes sense for list balance if we looked at Jenkins to replace Crossley short term.

I only just realised Billy Stretch is another South Australian lad. If we land him and Greenwood (& maybe BCrouch), that’s a lot of SA players on the list combined with Day, Ballard, Lukosius, Rankine... maybe others?
Greenwood is Tasmanian and Crouch is Victorian.

I find it strange that so many in the media still see that trade as a massive fail on our part. I see it as a win to date and even if young Andrew turns into a star for the Dockers we’ve still done very well out of it. Brayshaw vs Weller + Charlie. Do they conveniently forget we acquired Ballard as part of the trade?
You can't bank on pick 41 being a good player in most years. The trade has worked out a lot better than it could have, but it's unarguable that Clayton gave up too much compared to what a more competent manager would have.

That's assuming Clayton actually had any say in it.

No more fringe players please .
Trengrove delisted for a reason.
Jenkins alright in a top side where he is fed the ball.
No aggression whatsoever.
Surely we got to back Day Wright and King to be a far better option.
If we cant develop these guys to be better than Jenkins we are in big trouble.
No from me at any price.

That's a bit of a stretch. Look he may stretch our depth a bit but that is about it.

I remember he looked very uncomfortable in the room signing the papers on that Weller debacle

But then again being Clayton it’s probably because he wanted to add a sweetener ;)

Would be a good addition to the NEAFL team to guide the kids
With the neafl team getting Darwin as a zone you will find some of the Thunders more experienced players will play for us next year so they will fill that role while the rookie list is better suited for kids that could make it in the future
