I heard that Rankine signed for a LOT less than that figure. He will be a gun but being a small that hasn’t played much he would be a lot less than the reported 500 k for Ben King in years 3 & 4

The media reported that King, Rankine, Luko etc will all return home after 2 years. When it doesn’t happen they straight away assume we have paid massive overs because they got it so wrong.

We got him for free, he's been here a year, and he played every game when fit in the 1sts.
I highly doubt he wouldn't re-sign if we've got a contract in front of him.
He was decent but not world beating in the 10 games he played, so he can hardly go demanding a huge contract from other parties.
I'd think it's more on our end - biding time until we see how he goes on return.
We've heard Rigby say that a stress fracture in the femur is an unusual position - they might be concerned that he won't get back to top level, particularly early.
I believe it was stress reaction (swelling) not fracture. Typical for endurance runners from overloading. Too much running the last preseason

Twomey really doesn’t rate Gould. Was talking about adelaides key defensive stickd at pick 24 or something, was thinking here he goes - picks de koning instead.

Gould coming back at 106kgs suggests he isn’t disciplined enough. I wouldn’t pick Gould on that basis with either of our picks

Seriously they didnt take Crouch who could have been the Suns version of Lachie Neale but would consider taking back Martin who would be the most unqualified player ever to earn a million. If this team wants to get off the bottom forget the games , forget the players back stories and just concentrate on selecting the 53 players who will play their best football on the Gold Coast . Simple

Exactly. How were we ever going to prise Crouch out of Adelaide without giving them pick 1, 2 or Lukosius? Our best chance was to use the 1st rounder Carton gave us for Martin, except Carlton didn't give us one.
I think the Suns are just stirring the pot by threatening to redraft Martin, but plenty of wantaway players have stuck with their original clubs in the past & given good service. It is all good fun from where I'm sitting.
Not for SOS it’s not lol. If he doesn’t salvage Martin from the trade / draft period, it’s game over for him.
Can’t see us doing it but **** it would be funny
