I had no problem with Flanders skills but what a waste of time if he Is not best 22 for the first two year and request to go home because he is playing NEAFL. Not many young talent want to play NEAFl, espcially top 10 pick, Everybody predict Brodie request to trade back home this year luckyly he stayed for another two years.

Yeah you're right, we have plenty of young guns in the lower numbers anyways.

Zac smith should be 30+ wasted being a lower number

Flanders looks and sounds like a genuine flight risk. I'm curious about how much work we put into him given our respective picks. We're definitely putting our retention plans to the test that's for sure.

At the very least these guys are all quality. Agree with TSG in that no more project players is nice.

Sounds a lot more relaxed on the Suns site video. He spoke that way in interview pre draft that I saw yesterday with Cal Twomey and Riley Beveridge. Not overly concerned.

i think people were thinking the same of ely smith last year at brisbane, kept a fairly straight face and didnt show much emotion. re-signed with the club today. wouldn't be too concerned at this point, gotta give him a crack first and take it at face value.

RE stupid sexy Flanders. The club obviously back themselves in to keep him, like they did with King, Luko and Rankine after we where told they wouldn’t stay. I’m stoked to have a genuine top 5 talent in the club along with the best 2 from the draft. We are building something very special up here fellers. You'll probably find he's had a change of heart given the amount of commitment other players have shown. Because my mail at the end of the season from an extremely high figure at GC was that they were worried about retaining him. It just shows you how quickly things can change though. It'll be nice having a full season next year not having to hear about whether we are retaining this player and that player. For the first time in a long time our boys will just be able to focus on playing footy and winning.

2 years ago we had zero match winners - lynch, maybe but was more your 3-4 goal guy every week.

Ablett was too much about himself.

Harley probably our only other previous guy.

Now, rankine, Anderson, Flanders, king (predicting him to have a 6+ goal game next year). You need those in your team.
