If you are flexible you can have GC-Brisbane first round and GC Richmond third round and Martin. LETTING Blakely, Langdon and Fremantle second RD OFF. How you going to use the two first round is up to you. ( eg For Tim Kelly)

Losing Blakely and Langdon but getting Martin and possible Tim Kelly actually make both teams (GC and Fremantle) more balance in term of list management.

Two first round pick I mention are GC - Brisbane pick and Fremantle own first round not GC first round pick. I think GC going to downgrade pick 2 to pick 3-5 and late first round like Brisbane GWS deal in 2016 draft for will Gould and possibly Taheny another two SA boys.

The only path open to the Suns, GWS and the Lions if they want a consistent finals team is to make it a place that young players want to stay long term.

Will always lose a few to the pull of home state cash or Mum and Dad or girlfriend, and get back picks or a bag of Sherrins.

But if you have a good young player who is happy to stay, then you Cannot Trade Them for more Draft Picks. You cannot.

Constantly trading players for picks? That way lies Madness and Torment. As in lying on the floor in a pool of cheap whiskey and vomit, wondering why we can't ever win more than 4 games.

If you don't have pick 40+ you can't even pick a player in that range, you need to buy lotto ticket to stand a chance to win, same as freak accident. If Fremantle don't have pick in 50+ they don't get to pick Lachie Neale as a bargain pick during his draft year.

People will always criticize that trade, but he was a rare contracted player who wanted in to the GC club. Might have over paid, but Weller will be a serviceable long term player for you. Brayshaw is still a fair way off winning is that trade
