Maybe if you saw the lad play you would understand why I'm very bullish about his draft prospects.

Watched any NEAFL this year re Tom Berry?

Young Thomas is going alright, so much so that the Lions have already re-contracted him for a further 2 years on top of his rookie 2 year deal.

We've been through this before. I'm not having a go at you. The berry's seem like good players and I generally rate your opinion. Was just a joke

Game about to start for anyone interested. Might pay to keep an eye on Tassie lad Mitch O'Neill given Hamish's penchant for picking Tassie lads :moustache:

Mid/forward Caleb Serong featuring prominently bangs through another goal for VC

He's the one that caught my eye in the first game. Reminds me of Toby Greene.

Is it a suprise that Vic Metro are winless after 2 games? For suposedly having the best 2 mids in the draft its not translating to the scoreboard
It is interesting, potentially they themselves are realising the gap between them and "the pack" isn't as big as they once thought.

From what I've seen of carnivals (keeping in mindthe I've seen nothing at all this year), the more mature bodies from a man child perspective seem to really work over the, albeit classier, highly rated skilled mids.

I think back for SA and we have had players like Valente, Crowden and Graham come through, none of which have been first round prospects but all have been well rounded and physically developed. They kept us in or won games against more highly rated (draft position wise) midfields.

It's all about future projection at this age when it comes to playing at the highest level.

Hayden Young (#17 for VC) looks like a really good player. Reads the play exceptionally well. Definitely not a need for us though.

O'Neill has some class about him.

Young is every chance to transisitioin into a mid fielder IMO, brother Lachie is on the Dogs list.
