2019 Draft

If you are talking about Dow agility is not everything. It is not unimportant but speed, endurance for overall impact is probably more relevant especially in contested scenarios.

Agility is inconsequential if you cannot get to the contest or do not have the power to break a contest or speed to break away.

Cyril and Daniel are probably high on agility but they also had speed to break away. Dow does not have the don't argue Dusty has. Is Dusty quicker than Dow?

See someone like Philp has the speed and the extra height reach at 186cm which affects his consistency and effectiveness in contests with a bit more weight and strength. You can see it in his vision when he greats a ball from height coming down and bursts through
How many of Dow’s games did you watch this year?

The ones being drafted you mentioned. His a pick expected to develop for 1 to 2 seasons in vfl.

Thats fine but what role is he going to play?

Eg, get Williams, Thayen and or Fraser Phillip.

Over time replace Castagna or Lambert or others as they age or help out on the wing for lefties as part of rotations. In the forward line complimentary support Dusty, JR and or his replacement, Lynch and the smalls with left footed shots and leads etc..

With Dow who does he replace? To short for Cotch replacement, can't see him replacing Prestia, does not have the size of Graham, Edwards could go on for another 4 years or so. Plus there are others like Rioli and Bolton, that are quicker with more forward line tricks. So what is Dows role??

If we get Cooper Stephens goes in the guts, Dusty goes forward and stays there till needed, helps Cotch. Same with Philps might rotate with Cotch, rotations with Ross and Pickett

Georgardis replaces JR if good enough when JR retires generally. What role is for Dow?? It is not clear for me and he might be jack of a few trades master of none because role wise he is pretty incomplete so far and speculative. Too high a pick for speculation for me when a he has to develop yet and if he does that b there has to be an effective role or him!!

No one disagrees with that. But Vlastuin and Houli are established stars, while Stack has the potential and ability to be our best player in a few years, he isn't close to those guys yet.

I disagree, but we are not talking about apples and apples and like I said Stack going in does not mean Houli and/or Vlastuin goes out

Don't think so.

I reckon we'll want to keep those 3 together given how the Draft is shaping up. I think our only trading activity - if any - will be offering our future first for the next few selections up until about pick 26 then we'll shelve trading.

Just my gut feel.

I think we'll try the above to try snare a Bianco, Rivers, Rantall or H Jones, and then we're out.

Hoping Brock Smith makes it to our triple selection.
We could even trade pick 53 for a future 3rd. Would be interest from clubs further back in the draft.

How good's Carlspoon. They're the new Melbourne. They piss away pick 3 on Paddy Dow, not only do we waltz in and get the superior Jack Higgins with 17, we get the better Dow at 21 two years later. On top of the haul of Stack > Walsh, and Ross/RCD/Turner all > Stocker.
******* hilarious. What a club.
That's what jobs for the boys does...make you a laughing stock of an outfit! never change carlscum never change...Make SOS CEO!!!

Enjoy the gloating. It doesn’t last. I know. You deserve your opportunity. I’ll be definitely taking mine when it comes around. Expect to see a lot of me and 1000s of others round 1 when we knock you off.

Hahahahaha - Carltons Grand Final in round 1. What matters is how you end the season - not winning one game in round 1. You are funny so keep coming back cracking your jokes!

For those of you disappointed we didn’t take Robertson. There’s a reason he’s sliding. Massive go home factor. Wants to stay in WA. Not many clubs willing to take the risk, including us.
That's what I thought. Probably in his interviews made that obvious but surely he can't last until West Coasts pick #47. That'd have to be tampering

so you’re saying clubs do their homework?? Seems a bit crazy, especially when it cost a couple hundred grand to train and prepare new draftees. I think it’s more likely they check bigfooty phantom drafters powerrankings

Surely non WA clubs won't allow Freo or Wce get free hit with him?

If he's still available by out three picks in the 40's I'd expect us to select him. Even if he has a go home factor..
