you can click on the below link at around 7:30pm to listen in!

Spreaker also has a chat client built into it so feel free to submit questions along the way which we will try get to as well.

**note: This isn't a Richmond based episode about our needs, its a generic draft based episode.

Makes sense. But someone mentioned earlier that the full rookie salary doesn’t add to the cap? If so I’d imagine we’d keep a player like Stack who’s probably on more than base on the rookie list as long as possible.

Only the base rookie contract doesn't count in the CAP, anything above that still does.

im firming on keeping our future and current picks...

bring in 4 of the kids we think are in the best 41 (45/whatever) to fill out the list

get whoever is rated as the best still on the board at our first pick and maybe a needs player or two with the 2nd/3rd/4th selections

Just watched DeKoning's highlight reel... very athletic for a KPD and looks a good prospect. Unfortunately won't last until our 2nd pick and our 1st is probably too early.
Might be why we're trying to get a mid 20's pick.

Never thought I'd say this, but agree with Buckenara's ranking of Rivers and Cooper S.

Dees fans won’t be happy with Buckenara.

Funny how people get so defensive about players that their clubs are linked with. I’d guess they’d rate Jackson late teens a month ago and now they have a reported interest inside the top 10 their posters are all out and about trying to convince the rest of us that he’s worth it. Funny thing if they don’t grab him then they’ll be telling us all he was shit anyways and it was always a reach.

Any chance Kemp is still on the board @ our first? Kid sounds like a gun. Hopefully the ACL scares off a few clubs early. Hard to see him getting past both Cats picks? He says he models his game off Cripps and Fyfe.

Seems like to kind of kid you trade up for.
You'd have to say close to 0 chance. Although I asked the same question of RCD last year and got the same response.

What did he say?

Not a big fan of his. Made his reputation on taking Roughead instead of Tambling and continues to dine out on it. The truth was it was Clarkson that wanted 2 key position players so Hawks switched tactics at the last moment.

I would be happy to trade out our 202 1st rounder to north if De koning is on the board still at #27

20. HARRISON JONES
194cm, 75kg, Vic Metro/Calder Cannons, key forward

Buckenara says: Jones elevated himself into calculations with strong performances as a key forward during the carnival. He has a light frame at present but I believe he’s capable of putting on good size and clubs will identify him as a project key-position player who has a good work ethic. He leads up well to the ball carrier, has a good pair of hands, is agile and looks comfortable in front of goal, so there is a lot to like. These types of players are hard to find, so expect strong interest in Jones, given the lack of his type in this draft.

Plays like: Tim O’Brien

FMD pick #20 and he plays like Tim O’Brien

Careful mate, Hawthorn fans will say he's the next big thing!

If we can walk away with something like:
21. Bianco
39. Byrne
40. Finlay
42. Hilder

I'd be stoked. Settled on Bianco as our first. Just screams 'Richmond Man' with his leadership, ball use and footy smarts.
Byrne just seems like an extremely consistent ball winner with line breaking pace (can't have enough of them.)
Finlay could be our next Grimes while Hilder seems like an solid Astbury understudy.
Bolstering our Midfield/Backline with an eye to the future is my goal here.

Yeah I’m not a big fan either - I just read how he said Bianco was a Matt Suckling type. WTF ???

But I did agree with where he had Rivers and Stephens ranked - 33 and 34.

Watched all of their vision that I could get my hands on over the weekend, (along with a lot of others), and not saying they can’t play, but maybe prefer others over those two.

Buckenara likely picked O'Brien so is hopelessly biased. Think Himmelberg from GWS. I said earlier in this thread that I expect him and Dow to go a lot earlier than the Phantom Draft amateurs are predicting.
