2019 Draft

I can see us shaking things up tonight by live trading.
A mention of that on Foxfooty phantom, who also have us linked to Cooper Stephens

PICK 22: RICHMOND – COOPER STEPHENS

Clubs:
Geelong Falcons/Vic Country

Position: Inside Midfielder

Size: 188cm, 83kg

Bio: We always see players who suffer season-ending injuries in their draft year bounce back at AFL level to prove doubters wrong. Stephens might just do that. A broken leg ended his season after just three NAB League appearances for the Geelong Falcons, meaning he didn’t take part in the Under 18 Championships. But the midfielder showed his wares when he did play, averaging 26 disposals and 4.0 clearances. His 60 per cent contested possession percentage to start the year shows you the exact type of midfielder he is. He was impressive at the draft combine, showing off his strong endurance base.

In the mix: Without a pressing need, Richmond seems likely to take the best available. Stephens has long been linked to the Tigers, while Hugo Ralphsmith and Jay Rantall are others who have been floated. Richmond is among those clubs attempting to flick its 2020 first-round selection into the top 25 of this year’s draft.

Are we allowed to trade next years 1st and this years 1st for an earlier pick this year (plus something else back our way later)?

Actually, best timing for live trade siren would be pick before SoS has his first
The look on his face like he’d just scoffed a plate of dodgy prawns would be priceless

does sos still work for the blues?

hell yeah

cause its still using a first rounder, in the two year window...

Yes we can, but I'm not sure we'd get anything back. More likely that we swap next years 1st for a pick <25 this year if there's someone we want in that range.

That Matt Clarke video really looks as though we’ll look to trade some picks.

It’ll be very interesting to see how it all pans out!
Maybe we should swap next years 1st for the Cows #37 + #45

And next years 2nd for the Hawks #42

Leaves us (after GWS #40 is eaten by the Greene match) picks #37 + #38 + #39 + #40 + #41 + #44

Then package #41 + #44 + #56 for a pick in the early 20's

I'm not gonna be surprised if C. Stephens isn't selected by us. Get the feeling we have considerably bigger props on one or two others up the order and maybe even around the Stephens mark as well. Just a matter of whether we can do a deal or not to move up a few spots. Might be difficult. Just a hunch....

I thought it was a four year window (Geelong) or maybe it was a 100 year window (Hawforn)... me so confused seems you can ask the AFL to let you trade any picks...

‘RUNNING MAN’ TO GIVE TIGES SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

Greater Western Victoria (GWV) Rebels’ midfielder Jay Rantall, dubbed the ‘running man’ is in first round considerations with Richmond holding the final pick inside night one. While the Tigers are expected to select Cooper Stephens or West Australian Trent Rivers with the selection, Rantall is still in the mix. The talented clearance player and fierce tackler will likely land somewhere early in the second round between Gold Coast to Adelaide’s selections with the three clubs occupying the first four picks of night two.

can you trade three firsts/future first round picks?

'19 (pick#19), '21, '23

not consecutive...

i reckons suns would do that for pick 1 or 2
You can only trade the following years picks and if you trade your first pick you can't trade any further picks from that draft, unless you acquire another first round pick.

Is tonight picks 1-10 or the entire 1st round, if the latter then just fly through the rest and put these kids out of their misery, making them stress for another day is almost child abuse especially after they have just come out of stressful year 12 exams.
