The bit I like about Dow is that he wins contested ball but also has outside speed- good combination

like Eliot Kavanagh. worked out wellSam Philp is a Richmond supporter.
Get him to dog it and he can come over and play for us!!!
Vlastuin one of the best defenders in the competition, Rioli redefined our entire system. Robertson would have been a vanilla safe pick. It’s because we have been ordinary with first-round picks under Hardwick’s tenure. They hardly ever end up the best in the competition (or even the best in our draft haul), which is what they supposed to end up being.
They tend to either be vanilla (or “safe” types), or a stretch to begin with. The last first-rounder that has ended up a star of the competition is Dustin Martin. RCD and Jack Higgins have still time on their side, but it’s safe to say that any first-rounder between Dusty and Higgins has not become a star of the competition.
The club is good in most other things like gamestyle, fitness, on-field and off-field performance and picking beyond the first round, but they just don’t have the first-round track record to make me comfortable with picking a bolter.

I’d rate Vlastuin a star myself
We 100% did not want Philp
We wanted Dow
Pickett and Ross are ready to go and RCD will have developed his tank wjth another pre season
Stack will be also able to play inside or outside in a season or two
So we are pretty set for inside blokes for the moment
Not a crazy pick when you look at the other guys on the list
Blair was pretty pumped though. He threw the texter.
didnt even nominate. nominated for the rookie draftIs Thommo even there tonight?
We didn’t rate Philp. He can’t kick
I completely forgot about Vlastuin. He is certainly one of the stars of the competition.Rioli and Vlastuin go alright.
So he is a Dusty clone??In fairness, most commercial draft experts mainly watch National Championships and TAC Cup finals. Dow did his best work away from them.
Richmond I know had scouts watch him a lot. We know what we are getting. His ability to go forward and take a Mark makes this juicy.

Cotchins taller than 182, not apples and apples.
Sam Philp maybe.
Is Dow even a inside mid??
I’m not saying he won’t be, it’s just that he was going to be there in the last second round.Calm down folks. Dow will be good, very good.

I never said that we should have pick Robertson though. As I said in the post above, Vlastuin completely escaped my mind and Rioli doesn’t look like a star player to me.Vlastuin one of the best defenders in the competition, Rioli redefined our entire system. Yes he is an inside mid, he is only 3cms shorter lol. Not much of a height difference
I completely forgot about Vlastuin. He is certainly one of the stars of the competition.
However, Rioli ain’t going alright. He’s currently a fringe player.
I don't rate Dow that high
so lets see what happens

what are his achievements since his x factor is minimal??
Thanks DimmaCalm down folks. Dow will be good, very good.
Dow wouldn’t of made it past Sydney’s next pick mate. He’s a bonafide top 25 player. I heard Adelaide had interest too at their next one.
His inside work is beautiful but he’s got that ability to go forward and impact... if we develop him right could be anything.
