At the start of the year, I'm always eci, until the team goes on a losing streak. At that point, I just become eco.

Why get mad and go on a domestic rampage when you can just be cool with life?

I'm always excited for footy to return, but I'm not expecting finals, and I'm not excited by the club's finals prospects yet.

We DEFINITELY have the potential to do well, but first things first, Hardwick has to go back to a game plan that is similar to the 2012/2013 one.

We could have the AA team in yellow and black, and we'd still lose playing Hardwick's plan from 2016.

So here's how it goes - play fast and loose in the practice games (results don't matter, only style of play), and then come out and smash Carlton (a very average football side) by 50+ points in Round 1, then comfortably beat Collingwood in Round 2, and take the Eagles' scalp in Round 3.

Do all of those things, and with the game style that we KNOW we're capable of, and this will be a good year.

If we start seeing chip chip bullshit though... I fear for this board!

Agree, It's deja vu for Richmond supporters with the whole sep/oct "don't care, useless, got better things to do than support an organisation that doesn't change things up" and then jan/feb "got my membership, can't wait to make finals this year".

I've been cold since 2013 and that isn't changing this off season.

I had a weird feeling leading into last season which was then given more steam during that terrible NAB game vs Port.

This year I feel the exact opposite and just can't wait for the season to start.

There has been a fair bit more change from 2016 to 2017, than there was from 2015 to 2016.

I feel like that's probably the biggest cause for optimism. Hell, we've even changed the colour palette of our guernseys!

I like the feeling I currently have.
I am not expecting much because I'm a realist.
But I'm cool with that and it's not a feeling of eco or any of that crap, it's just feeling pretty calm and realistic about it all.
I'll still be watching and going as always just not with high expectations.
Lot of players to watch hopefully improve and come on a bit.
What is alarming for me more so at the moment is the lack of excitement I have about footy season coming up in general.
It's not a Richmond thing but a footy thing. Usually I can't wait but I just have nothing.
