Look at Albon. Was a couple of seconds ahead of Dan before he pitted. Now 7th. Dan in 13th and falling. Was never going to go the distance and be competitive on 1 set.

it didnt matter what they did with dan. the opening lap ****ed him and raikkonen. the pit time would've put him down where he is now anyways, and the renault is just too crap anyways.

Funny that Renault left Ricciardo out on a garbage strategy in the hopes he would be able to last all 44 laps on a single set of tyres and win points, while their cast away driver finishes 8th, while Albon, who Ricciardo was chasing for 8 laps, finished 5th.

Yeah, Albon did well, but he's in a Red Bull. In retrospect Ricciardo should have pitted but would have been good enough for no more than one or two points. It was a worthy gamble.
Will be interesting to see if they hand Albon a penalty while fat ass Perez gave him no space on the track while they were side-by-side.
