Had a look at the Eagles board from last year, looks as if funds are taken out the Saturday night after the game.

I have access to a full MCC membership but didn't register for the GF ballot. The ticket gate opens at 8am on GF day, what time would I have to que up from to ensure I get a ticket? Is it even possible?

Considering we got 75k for the Semi last year against the same team at the same venue, I'm surprised it isn't looking like at least 85k.

I’d say the attendance will be a mix of prelim fatigue, I know that sounds dumb but these tickets are outrageously expensive and we have played in something like 9 prelims in the last 20 years, mix that with an interstate team and the weather and you’ll get your result. I think it’s folly to compare to Richmond 2017, they hadn’t played in a prelim in like 30 year lol. I know the Richmond nuffties will be very happy to see a low crowd but who cares, after tonight it might be the only thing they have to celebrate.

Before i waste my time calling the AFL, is there any leg to stand on with trying to get money back on tickets that i bought that are now half the price

If you are in the GSS you are not undercover on the third level

As of yesterday mid-afternoon, the anticipated crowd was 82k. Add 1 to that number for Toby sitting in the stands.

92k for tonight.

I just called the AFL and asked if i could get a refund. For half the price of my tickets.

I got told if you buy something at full price then it goes on sale you don't get a refund.

I asked to speak to Gil

Against either Geelong or Richmond, I'd say if you want a seat on level 2 or 3 of the reserve, 4am is the time to line up. But you can pretty much rock up at 8am and get a seat somewhere. Question is how far are you prepared to go to secure a great seat. I've been getting there at 3 am recently and have had no issue getting seats on level 2 in front of the long room.

You may get lucky if you are in the last 2 rows, it depends if it’s windy and the direction it’s blowing. If a southerly wind or no wind, you’d probably be ok but regardless, I’d pack the ponchos and a cap if I were you.

I don't think I can complain too much about reduced ticket prices. If someone had suggested before I bought mine at 9.05 on Tuesday that I might be able to buy the same entry at half-price later on, I still would have paid the full price for the security of getting a decent seat.

And there's nothing unreasonable about people who might not otherwise be able to go --because of financial hardship-- actually getting a chance to see their team again this year after all.

There are now 820 public tickets left for tonight's Tigers v Cats preliminary final, and 13,700 available for Collingwood v GWS Giants.
