Guys, the best part about this fixture is being completely overlooked.

No game against West Coast at Adelaide Oval.

Woah wtf! Carlton actually got no Friday night games! Thank **** for that. They also have 11 Sunday games!

flipping LoL, Collingwood at the MCG for the first four rounds. They play 17 games in Melbourne. Certainly a fair draw lol.

Good fixture for me.

Lots of good games to attend at good timeslots.

On a difficulty scale it's no easier or harder than last year, but it is more balanced by having the bye later.

Predicting the amount wins we get right now is about as pointless as Garry Lyons hype ladder, but we won 12 games of footy playing well below par last year and suddenly we are a 7-10 win side at best. Carn.

I for one was genuinely intrigued to see if we could lose to them in exactly the same way a 3rd time in a row. Ah Chee to kick the winner after the siren.

Pretty happy with this draw and time allocations. Lots of Saturday games with twilight and night games. The early Sunday game against the Suns will draw no one other than the die hards. We play Crows, North Melbourne, Brisbane, Fremantle & Richmond twice so good mix of finals and non finals teams in the mix. And we get 3 successive Friday night games with 2 at home.

As far as our nemesis teams, we play Geelong at AO, Essendon at Marvel and West Coast at Optus, so not looking good for 2/3 games there.

Based on our 2018 form, I can see us wining at least 12 games but as high as 16 games which will put us in the 5th-10th spot range on the ladder. I think top 4 is still out of the question with our current playing list and coaching staff. And our run home seems pretty tough with 3 2018 finalists and 3 strong final contenders in Adelaide, Essendon and North Melbourne. If 2018 is anything to go by, we could crash pretty hard again on the back end of the season.

Well **** me, they have finally delivered what the fans have been screaming for! Friday night / Thursday night games are all good teams. Should be some great games.

5 day breaks 0
6 day breaks 3 - the 3 sides we play are coming off 6 day breaks as well
7 day breaks 12
8 day breaks 4 - China game is Rd 11 Sunday after Saturday v Hawks in Tassie Rd 10
9+ day breaks 1 bye plus pre Rd 1 break

Three Friday night games in a row is fantastic for the club and something that we can potentially use to lure in a major sponsor.

No Thursday night games is great too. In a sense, our fans voted with their feet by not attending those games which kind of helps in the long run because the AFL will just fixture them elsewhere.

In terms of on field, I haven't analysed it too closely but it doesn't strike me as a particularly easy or particularly hard draw. We've got two double ups against the bottom 6 but that is mitigated a little by the fact that those two teams (Brisbane and Fremantle) could well be the biggest improvers from that part of the ladder.

Two games in Perth again is great for our fans over here, even if they'll both probably be losses again lol.

From a commercial stand point, this draw kicks arse.

From a winning stand point, very tough

I guess when you look at the draw and can't see too many easy games, it generally means one thing - you're the easy game.

How is it a tough draw? We have to play 17 other sides. Our double up games are 1 top 6 side in Richmond, 2 middle class sides in North and Adelaide and 2 cellar dwellers in Freo and Brisbane.

There are 5 months before finals. Every side gets a couple of tough months. We have it near the start and near the end. Big deal. Its not as if we can avoid it.

Great fixture besides no Friday night showdown (guessing $even have no interest in televising local non-vic derbies?!?) & a double-up against freo

Agreed, should definitely be a Friday night showdown ! The other Sat night game is StKilda V WCE so that’s probably going to be the game getting the national telecast. No way we get on it WA or Vic

You've been crazy generous

Rnd 1 is a loss, it's not even close to 50/50. An improving team who finished top 4 Vs a declining team losing gun players, away from home.
Rnd 4 at home is at best 50/50. How anyone could say we will beat Richmond is beyond me.
Rnd 8 and 16, I personally disagree Showdowns are 50/50, the Crows will be significantly better than us in 2019, and they've already won 6 of the last 7.
Rnd 14 V Geel at home is at best a 50/50. We are 1 - 14 against them since we beat them in 2007 at the Cattery.
Rnd 19 V GWS at home is again at best 50/50. I mean they just beat us at home, and have had our measure for a while and have still got significant internal growth left Vs us who are on the way down.
Rnd 22 V NM away, at best is 50/50 again. They're about on our level and while we may win the AO bout, they would have to be favourites at their own ground to beat us.

I've lowered the expectations to 6-10 wins. Any more than that is a pass mark in our current situation.
Nope we should be winning 10-14.

We have no 5 day breaks, we only have 3 x 6 day breaks and the 3 sides we play Eagles, Hawks and Tigers are also coming off 6 day breaks. So no excuses there. Its a straight forward draw.
