Well from a Glitch perspective the first part of the fixture sucks.
Visiting home for the first time in 6 years and my flight arrives around 7pm on March 30. Don't we normally play Carlton in a twilight game on a Sunday.......
The following weekend is the Gabba game.
Time to try and arrive a day or 2 earlier!!!

Actually a fan of the Saturday night games - makes for a pleasant Saturday afternoon here!!!
We've played Carlton twice at AO both on a Friday night.

At first glance, it doesn't seem a bad draw. Bloody tough start against the Dees at the G, but if we can somehow pull off a win, it'll give the boys a massive boost of confidence for the challenges ahead.

A great up and coming side like Melb (who we beat last year) and the MCG, where we don’t play much, is a great start to the year. I’d rather that then a bottem team. They’ll know they’re in for a fight from game 1, a good mentality to start the year with.

Yeah I said to a guy at work today that it's probably not a bad time to get them. Time will tell.

Like the draw. Think its reasonable from a football perspective - its not crazy hard but if we make finals we've earned it, and if we crash and burn we might get some changes. Its great from a commercial perspective. Its great from an attendance point of view. So those are wins.

I'm pretty dirty on the fact they haven't delivered the much hyped Friday Night Showdown though, or even a nationally broadcast Saturday night game. Stupid VFL.

Since I'm a teacher, I went and had a look....

April School Holidays - 13/4 - 28/4
13/4: Richmond @ Home (Saturday Twilight)
19/4: West Coast @ Optus (Friday Night)
26/4: Kangaroos @ Home (Friday Night)

July School Holidays - 6/7 - 21/7
6/7: Adelaide @ Away (Saturday Twilight)
14/7: Brisbane @ Home (Sunday Twilight)
20/7: Richmond @ MCG (Saturday Early)

Queen's Birthday Weekend: No game.

There's a couple of ok travel options around school holidays there - West Coast at Optus and Richmond at the 'G are good options, but could be better.

April school holidays are a bit awkward for me as I'm likely away for the whole thing, I would've preferred the Richmond game on Friday night and the Kangaroos game later in the weekend to get to both. Oh well. Richmond game already looking a possibility of shooting over for.

We’ll get what we deserve.

No point wanting an easy or hard draw, we couldn’t have had a much easier draw last year and still didn’t make finals.

At least if we make it we know we’ve done pretty well with the tough one in 2019 and if we don’t then we didn’t deserve to anyway and would’ve just been making up the numbers whilst getting a lower draft pick.

Saw a headline for the news saying an SA team will have no excuses if they do not make finals. Didn't see the actual story but with the 2nd easiest draw it would have to be the cows. Champion data has our draw as ninth easiest.

Our away showdown was absolutely on a friday, and Hawthorn cracked the shits.

Adelaide on a Friday night the week before, Hawthorn against Collingwood that week and feeling as though they 'deserve' Friday night... I reckon you're probably right. ****ing ridiculous if true.
