Let's see how much I understand the "logic" behind the AFL Port's fixture:

MCG: Melbourne, Carlton
Marvel: Essendon
Shanghai: St. Kilda
Ballarat: Footscray
Optus: Freo, West Coast
Cairns: Gold Coast
Kardinia: Geelong
Launceston: Hawthorn
AO: West Lakes
---
Home games: Adelaide, Footscray, Geelong, Melbourne, West Coast (doubles), Sydney, GWS, North, Brisbane, Richmond, Collingwood.
Oh yeah, I forgot Docklands/Etihad will be called Marvel Stadium next year

What's the bet there'll be a Marvel themed round?

Don't laugh, it's happening in the NRL

West Coast twice
Adelaide twice
Geelong twice
Essendon twice

Already, 14 wins is our maximum.

freo twice, who will still be crap, but we will manage to **** it up at least once.

Game boring this year, resulting in
Poor time slots,
Almost no free to air, and
Poorly followed teams at Adelaide Oval and the MCG.

Ken has a lot to answer for.

Feeling like posting this on facebook to see how far it will go....

We're probably due a leak on the round one fixture sometime in the next week or so ...
What do we know already? Round 1 will be away, We'll have a friday night showdown and we'll play St Kilda in China?

I thought the rumour was a Thursday night showdown? Would make sense given the AFL has decided SA teams froth for Thursday night games despite them really only working in school holidays.

Hopefully the crows home game. Not interested in Thursday night football, unless prior to a Friday public holiday.

I actually enjoy them - both from a TV watching perspective and actually attending - but I have no kids and live like 10 minutes away from AO so I understand I'm in a minority.

I hope we don't get fixtured for any games next year.
Hopefully the hardest draw in the history of draws hopefully. It’s now clear only a complete burn to the ground will give us a chance to (hopefully) rebuild as a club. We need to fail so badly even the two insipid K’s off-field have to act on the coach. These soft pricks refuse to lance the boil, hoping it will magically heal on its own.

Saw a tweet yesterday that the AFLPA have approved 5 day breaks and that every team will have one as there will be 12 Thursday night games up from 8 the last couple of years.

Will see if I can find the tweet.

I don't think the tweet mentions it so I'm not sure where it came from, but I read somewhere that it is under the proviso that both teams competing are coming off the same 5 day break. Which makes complete sense but given we are talking about the AFL 'makes complete sense' doesn't mean much. Has anyone seen more info on that side of it?

As a side note this probably helps the fixturing issues related to Easter Weekend leading straight into a Thursday ANZAC day as well.

You just know we'll trade out our first pick for 2019 and then bomb badly next year.
