I could see Smith going into a footy department or player welfare kind of role. McVeigh was only ever going to go into coaching but Smith seems like a clever guy who could do a number of things, maybe he'll end up like Andrew Mackie at Geelong working in recruitment or list management or something.

I beg to differ.
We have been the worst we have been for 20 years,( we have reasons) they are bragging that they are the best they've been since Ratten (who was sacked for being 'crap').
Then I looked at the ladder.

Listening to SEN, it sounds like Carlton are on a high with Teague's signature. Boy oh boy this is setting them up for another disaster should they drop games early.
Their supporters seriously think they are on their way to success with this bloke. Same as when they signed Bolton. Same as when they signed Malthouse. Same as when the signed Ratten. Same as when they signed Pagan.
What makes this all the more ridiculous is that the same guys that sacked Ratten are still pulling the strings at the top.
They won't get any success as long as these dark figures lurk in the background.

It wouldn't matter who. They are destined to have a long 3 or 4 years because of those things I mentioned.
Anything but a p'ship is a fail after all!
Isn't it?
That’s what we are here for

I think they are on the right track with Teague

But as I think you said before could be that s**tty board and management that is still the issue

If you think back, there was just as much excitement with Bolton's signing.
There was that preseason bonding documentary they filmed the young group & all the hype surrounding him was about how they had fianlly found their right man.
Same turd, different container.
