Ryan Gardner will play local footy and be part of the vfl team.
Any idea what local team he will be affiliated with. Probably doesn't really matter as he will play VFL when fit anyway.

Cheers for that 09I asked Krock about Lang last year and they said no - Darcy is from Colac and our new Lang is a local.
As for Ling - there were twins Matthew & Harry Ling who played for the Falcons, I found an article that said no relationship to our former captain
Not sure on the other two - maybe ask Krock as they seem to have an idea on those things
Thanks for the list information.
Ling
Lang
Hovey
Handley
Any relation to ex players?
Thanks Kingy.. top work.Josh Hovey is the son of Mark Hovey, who has been VFL assistant coach for a number of years. Mark is, as we understand it, a nephew of Ron.
David Handley is no relation to Steven Handley, but does have the nickname "Chopper".
Harry Ling is twin brother of Sydney youngster Matt, while Tom Lang is no relation to Darcy.
Thanks Kingy.. top work.
We luv how we can get info out of KROCK but the GFC still has the old player bios on the club website a week after the new player numbers have been issued.

Poor old Caitlyn tries her best however but just can’t compete with real journos.... you know the ones with sources, professionalism and experience.Think it's a little more one-sided than that Daz.
I know you guys are being light-hearted about it, but it's the AFL that controls the website.Poor old Caitlyn tries her best however but just can’t compete with real journos.... you know the ones with sources, professionalism and experience.

Ps- yes I realise she just does the on camera stuff
This was a well worn path years ago - we had club representation on the board and it disappeared. We are very lucky to have the KROCK team play thru here.I know you guys are being light-hearted about it, but it's the AFL that controls the website.
And if the club started paying real journos we'd all be complaining about not enough money spent on the football dept or rising seat prices.
Agree with Krock, very lucky. This was a well worn path years ago - we had club representation on the board and it disappeared. We are very lucky to have the KROCK team play thru here.
The official cats stuff looks cooked and while there is only so much $ to go round, a small increase in the cats media budget to get better stuff would be well received imo... and other clubs have better involvement and make it work.

Spot on Daz, other top clubs have so much more media exposure & it shows where the bottom line is.. club memberships. This was a well worn path years ago - we had club representation on the board and it disappeared. We are very lucky to have the KROCK team play thru here.

I don't mind that. I don't think he is good enough for AFL, but he certainly would add more experience to the VFL list, and help mentor the plethora of small forwards on our list.Jarrod Blair former Pies forward is training with cats vfl team. Article in the addy says he has choice of a few vfl teams.
Very good pick-up.Good pick-up
Very good pick-up.
Reid is strong and a capable athlete. He possesses good speed, agility and a high leap, enabling him to restrict the opposition's influence. Reid balances quelling his opponents influence with intercepting.
Earning a draft combine invite, the 193cm, 85kg, key defender is not elite in any one category but is a strong all-rounder. Viewed as a likely mid-draft choice, Reid secured 13 disposals and six marks (three contested) against Northern.
Im not there so have zero knowledge of the kid other than what's posted here - that said - there is a clear path in front of him that bodes well for blokes like him.
Any chance we can start a new VFL thread for 2019 where this can be added to the OP, or even add this to the OP and leave this thread as the 2019 VFL thread? It's easier having the fixture in the OP for reference.2019 VFL Fixture
