Tests start in half an hour. South Africa have lost so much in the last couple of years, its hard to see them getting much out of the series.
Filling in for Captain Obvious, Faf and de Kock basically need to be Smith and Smith. There are some other players who can produce, and some who might enhance their reputations, but India in India are damned strong.

Rohit has come along nicely in tests more recently. Good to give him the opportunity I say.

Is the pitch so unfriendly to seamers that Ngidi couldn't get a look in, but an all rounder who can spin it does?

Also, surely it's worth throwing van der Dussen into the test arena ahead of de Bruyn?

Yeah Brohit, bury the Saffers. Faf is my least favourite cricketer so would love to see his side get absolutely flogged.

South Africa looked to have bounced back reasonably well today, didn't see yesterday but the bowling looked pretty reasonable today. But clearly this 20 odd overs with the bat is going to be telling.
