Emerging forward Ben Cavarra also looks likely to face his old side this Sunday afternoon at Point Gellibrand Oval.

“Ben Cavarra still needs to tick a couple of boxes, but he’ll make his return either this week or next weekend,” Bell said.

Well after what l heard from the practice match.Best taking him to Fremantle as an emergency.
Not to risk any more knocks from his ex Williamstown teammates.

Why is it that all our supposed minor injuries always seem to be worse that first reported.

On Sunday on Triple M Matt Suckling said he would only be missing 2 weeks but now it turns out that he will be out of action for a month.

I like Matt suckling

But he is constantly injured and reportedly moving on at years end to try out for nfl. Is it really worth playing him ahead of younger players like Duryea, Dale or Lynch?

Jong has had his appendix removed tonight, expected to miss “several weeks”

Just when you thought our injury list was looking ok.

I think we all know who is responsible for Jongy's appendicitis, don't we? My lips are sealed. ;)

Gasp!

Injury-cursed midfielder Lin Jong was present at the club on Thursday following time in hospital with appendicitis, an issue that was somewhat unique according to Beveridge.

"It's interesting (with) 'Jongy.' His symptoms with the appendix are a bit different because of the makeup of him internally, he's a little bit different to all of us," he said.

"It's pretty dangerous where you're having an appendix that's pretty nasty. He's had it taken out, he's on the recovery trail (and) was in at the club yesterday.

"He looked good within himself, hopefully it doesn't take him too long to get back to playing."

What the heck does Bevo mean by that??? o_O

This guy is a ******* freak. Love the bloke

The Western Bulldogs are optimistic that veteran defender Dale Morris can make a return to football during the latter half of this AFL season, after ticking some early boxes during his recovery from an ACL injury.

After suffering a left knee ACL injury during pre-season training, Morris avoided surgery, instead taking a conservative approach to his rehabilitation.

Western Bulldogs Medical Services Manager Chris Bell said that Morris is making great progress in his recovery.

Dale’s back running outside and completing an intensive block of strength training,” Bell said.

“We remain optimistic that he’s going to make a return in the second half of the season.”

Defender Matthew Suckling looks likely to face Brisbane at Mars Stadium next week, after making strong progress following a groin injury he sustained at training two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Lin Jong has recovered well from surgery to repair a burst appendix.

“From last week, Lin Jong developed some abdominal pain on Tuesday. He was taken to hospital where they found a burst appendix,” Bell said.

“He did require some surgery, but the surgery went really well. He’s back at the Club this week and is in good spirits.

“He’s currently planning to resume some running on Thursday, and we’d expect that he’ll miss the next 2-3 weeks.”

Can't believe Morris is now 6-8 weeks away, what an absolute machine. Jong and Suckling news both really good to hear too, having Suckling return against Brisbane will be huge

Tim English soreness test
Lin Jong appendix test
Fergus Greene ankle 2-3 weeks :thumbsu:
Ben Cavarra hamstring 3-5 weeks
Taylor Duryea hip 4-6 weeks
Dale Morris knee 4-6 weeks :thumbsu:

Sounds 50/50 on Timmy. Lin Jong should play VFL.
Pleased to see Greene is not far away (love the way Bell says "he's cme on in leaps and bounds from his ankle injury").
The fact they are putting a time on Moz (not just "indefinite") is a positive.

Cavarra is the really disappointing one for me. He won't get back into the VFL until mid-late June and will presumably need at least a couple of weeks to start showing form before being considered for the seniors. That leaves maybe 4-5 games in the H&A season. Pretty much a wasted year.

Morris will have missed a similar number of games but we know he can slot straight back in after maybe one VFL game. Cavarra is different because we wanted to find out whether he was going to solve some of our forward woes. If he did have an impact it might alter our post-season draft/trade approach. As it is, we just won't know (well the club might have an idea but we almost certainly won't).
