Trying to hide Worpels score from us you sneaky campaigner?
He's in your team isn't he? :moustache:

Will Scrimshaw likely figure in HAW rd 1 plans? Scoring seems ok.
Did Sicily get swung around DEF / FWD or was there another reason for the lower score?
Missed the game.

Scrimmage did stuff after quarter time , maybe lacks a tank.
Sicily either didn't give a stuff or taking the piss or a touch underdone. He stayed down back.

Reading that Short didn't have a good night and still went for 70, which is really not too bad if he did have a dirty night.

Watching bits of the game, O'Meara moved really well and seemed to use the ball ok, too.
Too risky durability-wise for me, but he could be really handy for anyone taking the gamble if he stays healthy.

Missed the game.

Sicily spent 75% of the 2nd half on the bench

A lot of the hawks players struggled to run out the game. It may have been the conditions though Richmond seemed to handle them well. Sicily seems to panic if it looks like he's getting into a contested situation. I don't think the starting position rule is going to favour him.

Okay. Missed the lions game and half watched the tigers game.

Anything I really missed out of the blue.
Lions Dees only watched part, but:
No Preuss, if that's a sign, then Gawn unencumbered.
Smith copped a knock to throat. Stef did ok against Gawn in the bits I saw, makes Smith R3 maybe not as promising.
Oliver good again, think only reason not to pick him would be if you want a pristine preseason.Good tackle numbers, shoulder fine.
No Zorko.
Neale handballed a heap, but ticked boxes.
Lyons had a day out, Mathieson solid preseason full-stop fwiw.
Brayshaw prolific, covered heaps of ground, got a heap of it, but disposal efficiency not super, it will often hold him back in SC.
Really liked Harris Andrews, keeps the scoreboard ticking over w/ intercept/spoiks, good disposal. But might swing a bit this yr??

Yesterday I thought it was about time to look at my SC team which has been untouched since an initial draft in January. Had a huge laugh at my first draft team. As usual it included a load of speccy midpricers which I did my best to cull. Especially Rocky, what was I thinking!

Now I get up this morning (I'm in South America at the moment) and check Fanfooty. Gray forward or mid?, Hoff no value, Hall trap, Goldy… can't see him, ok no drama it's only the JLT. Nothing much else... WTF ROCKLIFF!!!!!

I'm going to get sucked in again aren't I?

There was one year where he stay injury-free for the most part and looked good but he's looking fantastic for us after having a strong pre-season. Can any Cats here confirm whether he's ever been able to have a full pre-season before this year?
Think he has always had something come up either in pre- or season proper, but he's definitely a talent.
This is not scientific or anything, but blokes with injury histories seem to fairly often find continuity when they move on to Brisbane and Perth. Might not be linked, but I wonder if the warmer climate and stuff do those blokes good in that regard.

One of the factors for his move was Brisbane’s medical team. Marcus Adams also mentioned the same thing.

Not exactly JLT related but didn’t know where to post this- interested in everyone’s thoughts on the difference in SC tactics (starting structure and trade strategy) between playing for rank or league.

Personally I have invested in several cash leagues so am keen to hear some opinions.

You want consistency over up-down players, usually means avoid you KPP players for the most part

There was an article in Jock Reynolds’ magazine a few years ago about this.

I remember something about picking a more GnR structure so you have most of the top performers from day 1, and save some trades for the pointy end of the year.

That's good advice, especially the saving trades for finals, very important.

Also if you're in league remember it doesn't start until Rd 3, so a tactic could be to get Gaff or Mumford if you believe they'll be top scorers. They'll be very unique picks.

Also not a bad idea to have a little cash in the bank and an extra rookie or 2 for more cash generation, you might lose your first game or two as your side is weaker, but, so long as your rookies play you'll be generating heaps of cash and have a team of stars sooner.

What do people think of Vandenberg?
If his body can survive then he'll be probably average 80ish. First preseason I think he's ever done and will play through the midfield quite a bit, inflated score yesterday due to absentees such as Viney and Jones as well as injury to Harmes.

Andrew Birch, what do you think of Vandenberg as a midpriced FWD option?

I remember him from such times as his rookie year when he averaged 75 as a mature ager. Good times.

I haven't considered him this year TBH. Has missed a lot of footy but I believe his JS is solid. Could possibly average 70-75.

Anything to worry about with Dusty?

30 possessions but only 81 points against the hawks.

One suave ****

Premo’s in JLT don’t matter too much, especially someone like Dusty. If you back him in it’s almost a positive because he’ll become more of a POD!
