Went to my local hardware store today, but found this:

Probably because you Kents have used so many locks on the back of 4 JLT matches.

A lot of love getting thrown around on here over a few practice matches. Teams chopping and changing, this player out for this player that starred. Not buying it. We wouldn’t do it through the season if one player had one good game. Practice matches are by and large a place where players blow out the cobwebs and from a SC perspective we get to see what the rookies can potentially do. Need to keep in mind that plenty of stars are missing from all sides that run out there thus inflating scores from certain players-Ruckmen going up against 2nd or 3rd stringers, on ballers being the #1 mid with there guns missing as a couple examples. I think we need to wait for the dust to settle on all the JLT games before making decisions on who we keep/throw away. I won’t be touching my side until the round one teams are announced, too many variables at the moment. No knee jerk reactions this early in the piece.
Probably rhetorical but I’ll answer it anyway. All I’m saying is don’t go changing your team a thousand times on the back of one hit out. Back your gut in. Some people have spent a few months on their sides just to change them on the back of one player tonning up in the pre season comp!? To borrow an NFL morning show phrase, Come on man! You don’t want to be changing your side that much based on knee jerk reactions over praccy games that your team is unrecognisable to how it was a fortnight ago. Have a little faith. How often do we see people get on here 3-4 weeks in to the season and say “Oh I had that bloke all pre season! Can’t believe I got rid of him, shouldn’t have listened to this guy and got sucked in by that guy”? I’ll put it in perspective. Jamie Macmillan scored 136 today. I’ll say it again in case you didn’t hear me, Jamie F@$&!%G MacmillanWhere's the fun in that
It's true that it should be more about gauging the rookies, for the established blokes it's more to put a line through blokes who look underdone or get a sighter on players in new roles / teams.A lot of love getting thrown around on here over a few practice matches. Just letting you all know what your new player Tim Taranto looks like...

Got to get aroused about something. No one is posting puppies. It's true that it should be more about gauging the rookies, for the established blokes it's more to put a line through blokes who look underdone or get a sighter on players in new roles / teams.
Still fun to get overexcited on the arousal curve, though![]()
100%. Not doubting that one bit. Some players have certainly got me aroused over this weekend already too don’t you worry! But I won’t be touching them until the dust settles and sides are named Rd.1. I’m happy with where my side sits right now. Just have to twiddle thumbs in the meantime...It's true that it should be more about gauging the rookies, for the established blokes it's more to put a line through blokes who look underdone or get a sighter on players in new roles / teams.
