South-Eastern Polar Bears vs. Broome Bears
In the first preliminary final of the weekend, we have an experienced side up against a relative newcomer, with the two Bears going head-to-head. The Polar Bears have been there and done that... well apart from a premiership. Falling on the last day multiple times, whereas the Bears did not make it this far in their debut season last year, so this is a fresh frontier. The Polar Bears go in as favourites, but the Bears found some form last week after a dismal past month.
The Cheetahs vs. The Ladyboys
The Cheetahs are the only side to have tasted premiership glory before of these three sides, with The Ladyboys a regular preliminary finalist, before going one step further and losing on grand final day last year. The Ladyboys will hope to go two steps further than this step in 2019, while The Cheetahs will look to equal the Plovers as the only modern day side to have won two flags. They are still two wins away here though, and this is set to be an exciting match.
