Pick 5 and 55 for
Caldwell and 13?
Seems heavily slighted in their favor to be honestI’ve liked what he’s shown, I guess it may come down to exit interviews and his desire to sign on. Looks talented if he can get body right. Asking for 13 as well is too cheeky. It would be a straight swap for that selection if it’s fair value.
The Giants have suggested they are willing to match a Coniglio free-agency deal, depending on the amount offered, if their midfielder decides to leave, though they remain optimistic that he will spurn offers from the Blues and Hawthorn and stay.
GWS, meanwhile, have met Adelaide ruckman Sam Jacobs, in an indication that Jacobs is strongly interested in a move to the Giants.

Just being realistic - Caldwell for pick 5 isn't fair value a year after being pick 11. Players don't go up in value after one year unless they've been a star.I’ve liked what he’s shown, I guess it may come down to exit interviews and his desire to sign on. Fight for Coniglio: Giants don't need to match front-loading
GWS would only need to match the aggregate amount and number of years – but not specific annual dollars – if they chose to match any free-agent offer to Stephen Coniglio.www.theage.com.au

That's interesting. I had thought of him with some discussion around that he was likely to part ways with Brisbane. I'm not sure whether that means that Buntine is on his way out, or whether the two can exist in the squad at the same time. From what I can tell (and drawn from some Lions board posting) he's got a great work ethic but no more than a solid player. Still, he would bring 72 games worth of experience, but it depends what role he's perceived to fill (and other moves) as to whether I would think it worth the trade.
From the AFL.com.au trade talk video it was mentioned that the club is linked to Nick Robertson from the Lions, 24 yrs old with 72 games and 191cms and listed at 97kgs so a big boy and generally a defender/defensive mid and I think he has been reasonably durable. He would add to the depth of the club and it is likely he is cheap in terms of SC and I would think a 3rd rd pick would be enough and he could see opportunity for senior game time at the Giants. Originally from Perth but he has spent 6 years at the Lions so it is possible and fits with the historical picking up of recycled players by the club
Not sure if you're thinking of the right player... He's only had one suspension that I'm aware of, though it came out of a push and shove with Himmelberg (copped him high) so probably that's all you recall of him given he's not exactly a household name. Definitely plays hard but rarely dirty in a thuggish form. If you said scragger, he has elements of that - he can play defence in the Rampe mold but not as football smart.Bit of a basic thug imho.
Good description. If you compare him to others on the list he'd actually be a drop in replacement for Tomlinson - harder at the ball, but no ruck chop out ability (though arguably that's also true of Tomlinson), very similar disposal and running ability. He'll be a lot cheaper though which I think is part of the attraction.Similar to Buntine but more leg speed and he has that mongrel to go in for his teamates
In 72 games, plus the usual captain risky stuff we see from our own Mummy and Greene. Plays “on the edge” which in his case is making up for a lack of talent, no thanks.
I would say no to Powell Pepper, but a definite yes to Lycett.Giant Pete - Port have said they would trade out Powell-Pepper apparently. Any thoughts regarding him? I know he's younger than what you've postulated. I'm not a fan personally, but if you're looking for some inside grunt then you might look at him as an option. Averages around 19 touches, 3 clearances & 5 tackles per game. Less than a Taranto but more than Bonar. Pretty durable too; hasn't missed many games from injury. Probably would need to pay a late first maybe early second round pick (perhaps a Tommo compo pick or Bonar trade pick if you want to go that way). Who else would you think about?
And I think it's just journalistic rumours about Scott Lycett being dissatisfied at Port, but should we rattle that cage? Particularly if we lose Cogs should we see if we could entice him away? He'd be a great fit for us I'd think.

When I watch Powell Pepper, he seems to ball hunt a lot and doesn’t show much awareness. He’s not a good kick either. Doesn’t get enough of it. Made mistakes off field. I don’t think he fits the bill.
Leaky defence has largely been because of lack of pressure at the source. The last two weeks we have been beaten badly at the source.SPP will be a bit of the same same if we targeted him
Inside but slow
Our contested ball and clearance numbers have been good even with key inside players out
I actually think of more concern is the leaky defense. We have taken a step backwards this year in that regard. Teams are scoring too easily
