Silvagni a big omission - his effort and ability to set teammates up for scoring shots was outstanding this year, and I can't see Teague wanting to leave him out.

Fisher missing is a bit of an eyebrow-raiser too. He underperformed a bit later in the season, so I can see why he might be on the edge in 2020, but I've got a feeling he'll bounce back in a big way next year.

Dow and O'Brien the two I'd drop to fit both in - subject to pre-season form of all four.

Dan Butler meeting with the Blues today ..be a handy pick up..what do you think ..a late 2nd or early 3rd rounder...is still only 23 and gives us a bit more pace in the forward half.

Less.

4th rounder or swap of thirds. He's worth peanuts and Richmond don't dick around trying to get overs for fringe players who want out.

Yeh, at a third or fourth rounder Butler is an absolute no-brainer. Has performed the small forward role on an elite team better than anyone we have - even if he's not a world-beater, at that price he can bring us some energy, speed and at just 23yo has time to re-establish himself at the level. Small forwards are not usually *stars*, anyway. It's a role-player we need. A star would be a bonus.

I agree with everything you’ve said, above; but wish you would’ve left out any reference to his current team being elite.

They let Lloyd go to the dogs for pick 64, couldn't see Butler going for anything earlier than a 4th unless there's other pick swaps in our favour involved
It’s because of Neil Balme. He doesn’t play hard ball with welfare of players; particularly those who aren’t getting a go. He’s a damn good operator; refer H Scotland trade to Blues while he was in charge at Pies.

Yeh, if you want Butler and he nominates Carlton then Richmond will make it happen without too much fuss. Watch the last quarter of the VFL match against Essendon last Saturday if you want to see him at his best. Reports are suggesting the Doggies are leading the chase for Martin. You'll probably have to pay overs to get Papley out of Sydney so I'd be surprised if that one happens. Good luck on your trade targets.

Yeah they did. If we can draft a better small forward than papely with pick 8 then we should do it.

Small forward is basically the only difference between us and brisbane. They have cameron, mccarthy, rayner and sometimes zorko while our best is cuningham who plays once every ice age.
But it all due respect to Brisbane they don’t have a curnow and McGovern next to a Mackay — with silvagni as the extra medium defensive forward — they need those smalls— we just need reliable crumbers — Richmond were based around riewolt so had to do what they did... WC just got a jackpot ..with Kennedy deterioration maybe they follow Richmond or target a key forward that’s why I surprised they would go heavy at kelly— if don she’d want to make way for kelly come to Carlton please

Agree i think he's a better option than martin given the price and what we need. Martin i think is a midfielder who can play forward (same as sam gray) while butler is a pure small forward.

Agresta’s comment, that there are more ruck prospects in this draft than in previous draft/s, is interesting; given that we need to broaden our future ruck stocks.

Also really rated the brothers of a couple of our players.

The other thing to note is that he said the main difference between last year's draft and this year's draft is in the KPP's.

Don't think this draft is as bad as what some are making it out to be.

Sounds like not as strong, but it goes deep

If I heard correctly, he said it was lacking depth in respect of KPP's, but plentiful insofar as mids.

Butler can play midfield, he has pace to burn and is actually a smart little footballer. He actually needs more opportunity. Martin is overhyped and his price makes him a huge risk. Butler has a fair bit of upside and if you get him for a late pick I think you'll get a solid footballer cheap. He has only just played 50 games and had an injury interrupted start to his career. He's over that now and just unlucky to be out of the Richmond side at the wrong time.

I hope you don't get him because I don't want Richmond help you improve.
