One thing that is striking is that almost 10 per cent of our list were mothered by two mothers.
So TDK has a talented young brother playing KPD. Next year's draft I think.
Walsh has a 2 metre tall younger brother, project ruck?
TSOS to come of course.
Crippa's "baby" brother supposed to be a player.

Plenty more options to come?

I think Paddy dow has a brother too in next years draft.

We're expecting to leave a rookie spot open for the mid-season draft next year (where I assume we have pick 1).

I'd expect one mature age draftee at most, but then again we took Shaw last year... :(
There's still some quality kids left, such as Bowman, I wouldn't mind snaffling rather than Bugg or Goddard.

my only comment is win/lost should not be a measure
AKA Lions - 5 wins, they showed improvement with the young list, would you be happy with that result?
... within reason.

I'm an optimist. With Brisbane, I see them still playing an attacking gameplan with the intention of getting fans to games, getting bums on seats and re-igniting that fire. They'll lose more than they should, because the intention is to provide hope and goals - winning chains of play, incredible individual offensive efforts - rather than winning. As far as I'm concerned, given their home ground advantage and their quality through the middle, there is no way they should only have won the five games this year. They've won 4 in years where they've been insipid.

We don't play like that. We have always been about building a list and a gameplan to win a premiership, with winning being a goal. We turned games into shootouts at times last year, in pursuit of a win ahead of just shutting the game down. Given that we established our defense first, developed our talls and built our zone - and if I hear 'the zone doesn't work' one more time, I'll go nuts - now that we've more or less built our midfield we can hopefully provide sufficient team defense to allow our intercepting talls to do their work behind the ball, and be the offensive pivots we know they can be.

I don't see six wins as being that difficult to achieve, provided the list stays fit and the kids - who know who they are - come on.

Current open rookie spots:

GWS x2 - will sign Mumford
Carlton
Dogs
Essendon - will sign Clarke
Melbourne x2 - will sign Wagner
West Coast - will sign Brooksby
North Melbourne
Richmond x2 - will sign Weller
Gold Coast

So this is the current order of the mid-season draft (assuming based on 2018 finish):

1. Carlton
2. Gold Coast
3. Western Bulldogs
4. North Melbourne
6. GWS
7. Melbourne
8. Richmond

The draft may shift depending on 2019 ladder order, and additional teams may enter due to further PSS signings, LTIs and retirements.

It's a massive haul of new players.

Walsh McGovern Setterfield Newman Fasolo Stoker O'Dwyer Silvagni Goddard Bugg Owies isn't a bad number. The best thing is we haven't lost players.

Midfield might be a little light on in the reserves but the defence is really strong and there's some speed starting to show in both sides and a little bit of depth up forward. Midfield depth has improved.

Really like our defensive depth. Really looking forward to us being more mature and quicker.

Would love to see Walsh and Stoker really come on in terms of best 22. Would love to add an elite full package midfielder to that group.

We're building, just need to keep in going, put in a really strong season and take an elite player or two to help us take the next leap.

Hate to be that guy but it’s StoCker. Not Stoker.

I think Paddy dow has a brother too in next years draft.
All these brothers.

Sounds like we need a brothers academy. I can understand the northern clubs having academies to try to foster local talent, but I have NO idea why Collingwood have an academy, why the hell the runners up gets first dibs on Quaynor. It’s bullshit.

So yeah, we have the Peter Dean team, now let’s start the David Kernahan brother academy!

This is the best 22 team that SOS has put together for our long term success...

Docherty Macreade Weitering
Plowman Marchbank Williamson
Dow Cripps Settlefield
JSilvagni McKay CCurnow
McGoven Kerr Petrovski-Seton
DeKoning Kennedy Fisher
O’Brien Stocker Walsh Polson

** can’t believe I left Dow out. Highlights we are getting stronger and stronger in depth.

Be nice if we could roll out something like this in the back half of the season.

B: Docherty, Weitering, Plowman
HB: Marchbank, Macreadie, Williamson
C: Walsh, Cripps, O'Brien
HF: Dow, C.Curnow, Kennedy
F: McGovern, McKay, Fasolo
R: Kreuzer, Setterfield, Fisher
IC: Simpson, Murphy, SPS, E.Curnow

Stocker will be the interesting one as they'll need to tailor a fitness program to take his endurance to the next level, so it might be the 2nd half of the season before we see him in the seniors.

Was interesting to hear SOS interviewed this afternoon on GuessEN:
Russell has made an immediate impact and doesn't hesitate to tell players how it is. He hits them right between the eyes.
Given the program Russell's given Pickett, SOS wasn't kidding.
