Who is this, Mr P?
Forgot about that.
From the games I’ve seen from Papley, he seems to be an improving midfielder who gets a lot clearances.
Had discounted any Papley references, due to his family connections, but if he truly wants to be in Victoria, would be almost our number one realistic target. Would make a serious difference to our forward line with his pressure. Would be interesting to know if his midfield move was his idea or more necessity at the Swans. Can play midfield as well as forward, only 22, averages over a goal per game. Would be a great get.

The day we played them I thought thats the one I want. And was the difference on the day.Can play midfield as well as forward, only 22, averages over a goal per game. Would be a great get.
If North have a shit year, I don't see why we should be holding our breath waiting to pick up one of their discards. For mine that's too close to the year we picked up Mullet.
Found the posts on Max Lynch really interesting reading this week caught up with a mate of mine who's a Pies supporter and mentioned what I'd read on this thread and what his opinion of him was, first he mentioned the big fella has a massive tank on him, he finished in the top 3/4 in their 2km time trial over the preseason behind Tom Phillips also mentioned his mobility and having great hands both in the ruck and around the ground, apparently club has a high opinion of him...

And much less than Kelly etc.I would 100% be on board with chasing Papley. He’s a perfect fit for our side/list. Much like Setterfield, I’m sure he would see the opportunity to play for 10 years in a successful side with a large group of people around his age. We’ve also got the capacity to pay him far more than Sydney would.

Ok, perfect trade period Coniglio (FA), Billings (1st rounder prob + some), Papley (next year’s 2nd) + a ruck (we’ll take M.Lynch off recent reports).
FB: Marchbank - Jones - Plowman
HB: Docherty - Weitering - Williamson
R: Kreuzer - Stocker - Coniglio
C: Walsh - Cripps - SPS
HF: Cuningham - Charlie - Billings
FF: Papley - McKay - McGovern
INT: Fisher - Setterfield - Dow - JSOS + Gibbons - Pickett - LOB - Lang - Schumacher - Macreadie - Kennedy - TDK - Kerr - Newman - Polson - Phillips - M. Lynch
Murphy, Simmo, Daisy, Ed + development players.
You'd also expect Coniglio will go to Hawks alongside O'Meara if he does request a trade. Papley alone though would be a big addition to the team.Billings will likely sign and I think Papley demands a late first round selection, particularly contracted.

If it looks to be too good to be true.........it probably will be.
That would make for a wonderful trade period, whilst possibly still holding onto the 2020 1st
He's definitely one that can ride on Cripps shoulders.Papley.
I like him a lot but also factored in his family history.
He loves a goal and applies great pressure.
Agresta’s Sydney connection should be valuable in discussions should this be a possibility.
Grundy could also end up being no 1 ruck for Adelaide. They may have a high opinion of him but I just can’t see how they convince a young ruck he has a future there, when you have Grundy.
Grundy will be number 1 ruck for 5-7 more years, so what would the player be thinking?
Do you remember what our side was like last year ?Garlett played Hff for 10+ games last year. He can't find the ball or stick a tackle

They can all play forward. We are looking to pickup 2 more gun KPFs this offseason so we can buck the trend and play 8 tall forwards at once. Slow and steady. If Lynch dd come to Carlton to take #1 Ruck , The same question could be asked about TDK with McKay,Curnow,McGovern,Kerr in the foward line will TDK be happy in 2 years time sitting in the reserves
If the Adelaide Pick did end up being 6/7: I’d love to somehow turn that into Papley and Langdon.
