I went last year, not going this year. Nothing they could say would satisfy me. I’ve heard enough crap, show me by game day performance.

Team finishes the last 7 games with a 1-6 record. it drops from top-4 contention to missing Finals. Members want blood, as they should!

Club should have sold this event as: "2018 Convention and Season Review — Why Have Our Plan Failed." It would have generated more interest. Everything related to 2019 should be presented in comparison with last season:

— Last year, we started 11-4 and finished 1-6; it is not that we were playing well on those first 15 games, and it got worse from the 16th onwards. Let's see what we have said during the convention, what we have shown on the field, and what we can take from them. There are things that we are going to maintain as is; others that we are going to make some changes; and some others that we are going to dismiss completely...
— Last year, we said X. We saw X on the field, but it was bad, because of x, y, and z. We won't do X this year, but A, instead. A is better because of 1, 2, 3...
— Last year, we said Y. We didn't see Y on the field, because of a, b, and c. We have given up on Y, and go with B, instead / We are going to try Y again...
— Last year, we said Z. We saw Z on the field and it worked. We are going to do it again this season/ We don't think it is going to work this season because of d, e, and f.
— Last year, we didn't say anything about R, but R was a big issue which we should have forseen. We didn't. We won't get wrong again. We are going to do this and that; and we already did this and that, to address the issue.
— Last year, we didn't say anything about C. Still, C may have been an issue by the end of the season. We weren't ready for it, and we paid too much of a price because of it. We won't make the same mistake again. This and that is being done to avoid it.
— Last year, ...

Club may be not selling the event like this, but if it is not going to happen like this, why bother? There was a presentation last year. There was a standard put forth by the club. "Why haven't we reached the standard set by ourselves" should be the main question.

People want to know why we have failed. The stuff we are going to do this year is supposed to fix what was wrong last season. So, show people precisely that.

Was it $99 last year? I have $75 in my head. If that’s right it might be a factor in the lack of interest.
Yes, it was $75 and there was a wait list for tickets. The club rang me two days before the event to say that a ticket had become available but I'd already made other plans.

So, new and innovative thing held within the friendly confines of Alberton Oval at a cost of $75 amidst the mood of Rockliff, Wattlop and McTrenzie coming aboard for an almighty shake at a flag, versus $99 sequel at EntCent amidst the mood of complete and utter dumpster fire as Polgard bids adieu after top-4 becomes missed 8.

Can’t imagine why interest is low.

We all know what C stands for. No need to speak in code!

Time to take it to the next level!

Talk about having a tin ear to the sound of a knowledgable but disillusioned fan base. If you need further proof that the management of the club is out of touch with the supporters, look no further.

I left two Easter Eggs there just because...

I was using letters. So I went with it all the way! :p

The higher cost would be to do with the hire of the venue. That would be pretty obvious.

The fact that it was sold out the first year was because it was new and exclusive. The second event never generates the same level of interest for that very reason.

The question should be centred around why they decided to shift it to the Entertainment Centre. It’s basically almost triple the capacity if set up into conference mode (1900 seats as opposed to 750). Even if they split it into two rooms, which they will probably do, the capacity is higher than it was last year (950 seats).

The additional cost basically covers car parking as everyone gets free car parking with the $99. Its $16 for an early bird rate to park if you get in between 5.30 and 9.30 and out by 6.30 ( and its on between 8.30 and 4.00). All day parking is $29 and 4 hours costs you $17. Not everyone will take a car, and those who do will be issued with a parking ticket to use. So the $16+ saved on those individuals who don't take a car. will be used to cover other costs eg room rental.

Inside Port Adelaide.

Venue: Entertainment Centre.

Seems legit.

Alberton is the holy land. Leverage it. Marketing 101.

What they should have done instead of try to make it bigger is to keep it small, exclusive and at Alberton. Demand would be insane if it was done right.

It would’ve supported the price better too. Now that they’ve hit the panic button with payment plans and freebies heaps more people will hold off on buying tickets next time around.

There won't be a next time.

Its always easy in hindsight but I think this one was pretty obvious from the start.

At least let it sell out for a 2nd year before jumping the shark.

Yep.

It's a death spiral once you start offering discounted tickets.
