I hadn't realised Joe Hockey joined bigfooty and that poor people couldn't possibly barrack for Essendon.
It’s got absolutely nothing to do with that. You are taking what I said totally out of context. But that’s how you lefty’s argue, right!? I’m no financial tyrant, i make many sacrifices so I can afford to pay for a membership as I mentioned in my original post. I’ve got no issue with anyone supporting Essendon, in fact the more the merrier. I just don’t think if you attend 1 game and pay $25 you should be classified as a member when other people make real sacrifices in their life to contribute a significant amount of money out of the family budget towards the club. There’s plenty of people who get a country membership or 3 gamers but there is actually a contribution to the club attached with that not just paying for a ticket to a game. But hey everyone who attends bombers games is now a member. Even the oppo fans, they’re all the same if they attend an Essendon home game. Geez we are going to have around 600k members next year...

Yes, it seems you don't think. That $25 could be a real sacrifice - it could be a multiples for family of four or five, attached to train tickets, attached to a hotel booking, rounding out to be hundreds of dollars for a family seeking a little glimmer of hope in their lives, while otherwise struggling to make ends meet. Go you

Unsure if this is the place for it; but is anyone a bit concerned about the proposed changes to the constitution that members can currently vote on? In particular where it now appears that there is more leeway to get rid of elected directors and basically have a board made of hand picked "appointed" individuals without any "members" say.
Does anyone know why they are pushing for this change, and have I just mis-read the intent/ got my tinfoil hat on too tight?

Just seems a little fishy to me....

Pack just arrived. Woot!

Scarf quality looks to be increasing. Shame everyone voted that design. Ah well. Will still keep my neck warm and be fun to wave.

Lots of stickers too if that's your thing.

Am loving the round pin. Can't put my finger on why. But I dig it.

48,920 as per the EFC site.

46,800 members same time last year.
Good numbers bomber fans. On target for 81-82,000. Collingwood 6,000 ahead of this time last year so they are on target for about the same numbers as Essendon. Richmond already over 70,000 members

We’re well and truly back as powerhouse club now...outstanding numbers.

Onwards and upward..never looking back at those dark days of the recent past.

Interesting breakdown of 2018 state member locations (and as a % of state population)
  • Victoria - 60,852 (0.94%)
  • NSW - 3,066 (0.04%)
  • WA - 3,186 (0.12%)
  • QLD - 2,390 (0.05%)
  • SA - 2,292 (0.13%)
  • Tas - 2,255 (0.43%)
  • ACT - 681 (0.16%)
  • NT - 437 (0.18%)
NSW is surprisingly low and WA higher than I expected.

WA bombers are everywhere here in Perf. A small army of them.
